Extended Writing Update
Added 2024-05-20 00:59:46 +0000 UTCSomething clicked, and I am really hoping it stays that way, lol! I spent all weekend getting chapter 9's update ready, which included:
A ton of rearranging orders of things
Adding in new choices to replace things I cut out + tweaking some existing moments
Adding in the "modules" - aka letting MC choose what order to explore the base in, and adding transitions based on the order chosen. I really like this change. It's less linear, plays better, allows a little more player agency, and is actually way easier for me to edit and keep straight in my head.
Streamlining my game files to a way better format for this chapter
So. much. playtesting.
There's still a lot to do, and I'm going to be working well into the night. But I'm on a roll and confident it'll be a respectable update for all 3 routes :D
I admit, I'm a little nervous to release this chapter fully. It's been such a bear to write - I'm hoping that I'll get some feedback in the beta stage to help me know if this chapter lands for people. And if you'd like, you're always welcome to send me feedback here via comments or DMs :) You guys are my biggest supporters, and I'll always do my best to ensure you're having a good time with the game!
