A peek behind the curtain
Added 2020-08-15 09:03:27 +0000 UTCI thought I'd drop an interesting little tidbit for those that visit the Patreon. I mentioned before that I got about ten chapter into the first draft of Power Overwhelming before I decided to rewrite it. This was before I put it up on RRL There are a couple of little bits of information that some readers might be interested in from that original first draft.
In that version, Karma's name was actually Anastasia, and she was the daughter of Wolfgang, who in turn was a yet unspecified Divinity. The character of Arjuna didn't exist at all. Karma was part of triplets with Rein and Siegfried, and they were naturally all Godlings. In that version they all grew up quickly, and were practically adult by the time they were ten. Tsumi also existed in that version, and she was actually the Emissary from the Divine Planes, and ended up becoming the Karma's master and a very important character right from the beginning.
I dropped that draft because the family dynamic didn't really work, and things were moving a bit too quickly. It was also a bit too cliche as far as beginnings went. Karma was practically an adult by chapter ten, and I wasn't really feeling the connections between the characters. Still, some of the characters survived to the version I'm writing currently, even if their roles shifted radically.
