Development Update October 2nd

Why hello there! I hope you are ready for some good news!

I'm not sure whether it's due to the colder temperatures or what, but my writing flow has been exceptional this past week. I've made a lot of progress and am now officially past the half-way point of chapter 5. I always get more motivated when the end of a chapter is in sight, so I'm hoping to keep this pace up. 

Right now, we're somewhere around 32k words into the chapter, and I really don't think we'll exceed 60k by the end of it. I don't want my chapters to keep getting longer and longer, since I'd rather release smaller updates that allow for more consistent feedback. If I were to speculate, I'd say chapter 5 might release late October or at the very least early November. So that's something to look forward to (and a reason not to cancel your subscription for another month, hehe).

I'll also start writing the next short story this week. Lester is the only romance option left without one, so it'll feel good to get that done as well.

From this point onward, I'd like to go into a bit more detail about chapter 5, so if you want to avoid spoilers at all costs, I suggest you stop reading here. Thank you so much for your support as always, and I hope you have a wonderful day!

SPOILERS INCOMING:

I've been having some trouble deciding on a title for chapter 5, since it can end pretty differently depending on your choices. You'll get your first opportunity to tell someone about your identity as a changeling, so I was thinking of calling it: "Revelations". But what if you decide not to tell anyone? That title wouldn't make any sense then. I could just name the chapter after the general plot that is happening, but it just isn't very poignant. Like if I named chapter 1 "The Squire Initiation" instead of "A Day of Destiny". It's just kind of boring. I already thought "Wild Hunt" was a bit too literal.

I think at some point I will switch to variable chapter titles. So, for example, someone's chapter title could be "Loyalty" while someone elses could be "Treachery" or maybe "Harmony", depending on how their story is going. That would be fun, right? For chapter 5 though, I still want to have one all-purpose title. I'll just have to think about it some more.

So, as I mentioned, there will be an opportunity to divulge your secret, and it can change the story massively. Those are the scenes I'm writing right now and I'm having a blast. Figuring out how the characters would react, what the consequences will be... It's just such an important moment. The only downside is the new variables I have to consider going forward.
