Development Update August 7th

Big Announcement: Chapter 4 will be out on Patreon this Saturday (the 12th)!

Yes, that's right. I've finished writing chapter 4 and I am pretty much done with the editing and bug fixing too. Just a few more test runs to do and a few more typos to hunt down and then the chapter will be ready for you to enjoy! I am very happy with the way it turned out and I hope you'll enjoy the direction the story is headed in.

The chapter is around 75k words long, including code and branching paths of course, which is twice as long as the other chapters. Discounting the branching paths it's not actually twice as long to read through, but it is still quite a bit longer than chapter 3. Now that there are more branching paths, there's also more replay value.

I think I will simply post the updated game here as a zip file for you to download. I did fix a few things in the earlier chapters, but you should still be able to use your original safe files. Make sure you have a safe file on your local disk since safe files in your browser won't carry over to a downloaded version of the game.

I'm hoping the Patreon release of the next chapter will get us a few more members, since I think early access is something more people would be willing to pay for. I think I will keep chapter 4 members only for a good while, maybe even until chapter 5 is finished. I want you to really profit from the support you're offering me. Thank you again for that!

In other news, I have also finished the next short story. I will probably post it a few days after the new chapter. It just makes more sense to read it afterwards.

I have officially started writing chapter 5! It will be a very important one, since it kind of marks the end of the first act and the first opportunity to lock yourself into or out of certain routes. So another recommendation would be to keep a safe from the end of chapter 4 if you want to see every possible route, romance, and ending without having to play the beginning over and over again.

But more on my plans for chapter 5 in the next update post. There's not much else to update you on, so I'll leave it at that. I hope you have a wonderful day!
