And Friday's Comic!

Apparently they're still having issues with my servers, so again, in case the system doesn't come back up by Friday morning, here's the next strip!

Yes, I've called, and yes, they're working on it. Should be fixed shortly, please stand by.

Doc.

Thanksfor the updates, was getting concerned that Life had happened.

sad, indeed,

I'm sorry - if a web provider can't serve a GRAPHIC after 4 days of working on it, there is something seriously wrong there. Even if they can't get your whole archive and page design up or whatever - they should be able to put up the day's graphic instead of bounce to a domain server front page.

BT,DT. I'd just leave 'em alone and let 'em work- THey know it's down, they are working on fixing it. I've had to use the old horey line of "It'll be back up as soon as people stop calling me to ask when it'll be fixed" no less than two times. (the first was a proxy server that had rolled over and stopped passing traffic because someone decided to use it as their own private file server and ran it out of space; the second one was a different company's web filter, which had failed badly enough that I had to perform some techno-necromancy on the hardware. (plus, in the second instance, the filtering had failed open, which mean people would browse failbook/youtube, and boobs.)

I suspect an insanely large number of us works for tech as sysadmins; We SO get this position you are in we want to get on the phone FOR you to yell at those who would fail at their duties. (glares at past ghosts of companies that insisted their uptime was so freaking good)

Yohannon

I so want one for my 13yo daughter, who would approve mightily. :D

Yohannon

Yep, I know. They're still working on it, still no ETA. All I can say for the moment is thanks for your patience. :)

Your hosting company now shows this message.... : You don't have permission to access / on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (Red Hat) Server at www.the-whiteboard.com Port 80

Just needs to monetize the karaoke-torture :)

Did Doc just make a case for *Sandy* being a supervillain? The "behind the scenes" type?

McClaw

I'd like one of those.

Inglorious Bastard

If it ever comes to fruition, it seems I'll have to send Doc of of my "Underfunded Supervillain" t-shirts.

Drew Maxwell

That right there is reason enough to take over the world. The elimination of paperwork. Also I hope that your hosting service is comping you for the time that they're down.
