Premium Episode #28 - Ina & David Steiner

In 1999, Ina and David Steiner founded an online newsletter called eCommerceBytes. The couple worked hard to establish themselves as knowledgeable, trustworthy and unbiased reporters in the e-commerce industry and were well respected by their niche community. Then in 2019, eCommerceBytes received a scathing message from a Twitter user who took issue with how Ina Steiner reported on the U.S multinational e-commerce company eBay.

Yes, please tell which one? 😊

White collar crime never get prosecuted. Walk away with a golden parachute and get hired elsewhere in an hour.

Bluechurch77

Which one?

Clodagh

I think so too

Hannah Daikhi

Aren't you too busy with your work at the Heritage Foundation to listen to, and even more so comment on, Casefile Brock? Well The Sherman Act - which has regulated competition in America since 1890...and other rational western countries who have followed suit. Gosh!

Michael Brodie

Even if they work for it they shouldn’t be getting it? That mindset is gonna always keep you as a “victim” lol And what tighter controls?

brock305miller

It happened again! That other true crime podcast that covered the Zantrop case a week after you… covered this case this week!

Jacqueline

As a former eBay employee (Ireland) I am shook. I left just before this happened but surprised I’ve never heard about it 😳 met Devin once and his visit was weird - very culty!

Clodagh

Does Anonymous Host sound different to anyone else?

Jennifer L

I remember this coming out in 2020-ish and being stunned, really glad to see more attention on the insane threats and harassment

N Stevens

Hadn't heard about this. Wow. How is this not a Netflix docu yet lol

Ernesto Ortiz

Let me rephrase, "An example of where egregiously dreadful management makes a mockery of a particular company." Happy now Brock?

Michael Brodie

Would love to hear swindled cover this as well!

James

This is a great episode, and no one was even murdered.

S. Martin

That is absolutely deranged. Wow.

AR

Holy cow, this is nuts!! It's so frustrating and typical that the chief executives got away Scott free ☹️

K. Smith

Damn that story was nuts and I had even read about it before 😨

Ian Garlock

Capitalism with tighter controls. They should not get carte blanche. And NO ONE other than the investors themselves should be earning multiple millions of dollars per year.

Bob Trenwith

So do you have a better solution? I’m sure we can take some pointers from Venezuela, Russia and China right? - they all seem to live in harmony

brock305miller

When capitalism implodes

Michael Brodie
