Are you taking your winter holiday break the first week of July and coming back in August? Do you plan to release the really old "Patreon Picks" cases 1, 2, and 3 from 2017? 9/27/17 The Lincoln Axe Murders 11/24/17 Jim Donnelly 12/18/17 Michele O'Dowd

2024-06-23 03:22:48 +0000 UTCJust general questions here - what kind of microphone do you currently use for recording? Curious if it is a Shure SM7-B. What do you think about Slipknot’s new drummer, Eloy Casagrande? And have you heard of Riot Fest? If so, have you seen the lineup for this year? If you haven’t, I would highly recommend you check it out. Meeting you and Olivia at CrimeCon this year was incredible, along with meeting Maggie for the first time and knowing Brittany’s story through Casefile, hearing the impact that Casey and the entire team has had on Maggie’s life is really amazing and Maggie herself is amazing and such an inspiration.

2024-06-22 02:28:55 +0000 UTCcase 286 the survivors network. that brought up so many memories for me. An ex friend would tell me all these outlandish stories. she even had her father called to the school with claims of abusing her, physically (spoiler he wasnt) I caught her publicly in a lie in front of officials (claiming to be adopted) this case just brought up all these memories and after severing ties I always wondered why? I guess my questions to the team are....have you ever had someone that manipulative in your lives? is there any answer to why they do it? I always felt it was attention seeking and narcissistic when I look back. if you have had someone like that in your life do you keep tabs on them? and try to warn others? last I heard thru mutual friends that she was claiming a brain tumor and trying to raise money so I warned them off of donating...good money thrown at no good.

As folks who also write about true crime, do you think you'd make the same decisions she did, like not investigating what the person was incarcerated for? It feels like the kind of decision you make when you're aware of and accept all the risks. For Q&A: how was CrimeCon?

2024-06-19 02:57:29 +0000 UTCI was very moved by the Survivor’s Network story and I’m really glad you covered it. While it is technically true that Ms. Head committed no crime, perhaps you feel as I do that it should be a crime to misrepresent yourself in such a manner. There was a similar recent case in the US where a politician was elected but had lied about his entire background. He similarly claimed he broke no laws. Should there be laws against this type of action? What laws would you like to see in place? Relatedly, I am alarmed by the AI misinformation and how easy it is to manipulate fake things into looking real. I feel like it’s going to take legislatures all over the world a while to create laws to protect citizens. In the meantime have you given any thought to how to protect against falling for lies masquerading as truth?

2024-06-19 01:40:06 +0000 UTCI asked this elsewhere, but asking again here: This exact same case [287, The murder of the Zantops] was on another popular true crime podcast this week! Told from a completely different angle, it still converged the same way. Did you know this was happening? Is it the case that when there is a development in a case eg parole etc, it may prompt more than one true crime podcast to feature the full story?

2024-06-18 23:53:27 +0000 UTCQuestion about Case 288: Berlinah claimed near the beginning of their relationship that she became pregnant, but a few months later lost the baby. Was it ever determined if she ACTUALLY was pregnant, or lied to manipulate Mark into staying with her? Given how awful she was, it’s no stretch of the imagination that she would lie
