Case 283: Kris Kremers & Lisanne Froon

When Dutch friends Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon set out for a six week adventure in Panama in 2014, they were ready for the trip of a lifetime. But after failing to show up for a planned tour in the mountain town of Boquete, search parties sprung into action. Had the two young women gotten lost while hiking the popular Pianista trail, or was something more sinister at play?

Honestly I think it was just an accident, we never know how we or someone else would act in an emergency

Alison

Wow man, so disrespectful…

I really like cases where, after you’re done listening, you can go down the rabbit hole online afterwards

So it seems like the accepted conclusion from the Kremers was a fall? Is that the case?

Ashley Batton

I had never heard this one either

Parrots Liz

Best story telling ever, had never heard of the Dutch girls!

Connie Archibald

I had never heard this one.

Wow, hearing her thoughts of being in over her head and feeling better the next day is so relatable. I get that every time I go camping or traveling to a significantly different place from my home.

Andrea Johnson

I was surprised y’all chose this case considering how much it has been covered. Excellent storytelling as always. I respect the families for not wishing to continue revisiting it. I waiver back and forth on my theory about it.

Annie Brod

I think it was foul play

Byron Ridenour

So much to look forward to in life, yet, if something happens in a foreign tropical country, I feel you're quite literally on your own. Just something we must all take into account in what should otherwise be an adventure. Great writing as usual, and matching score!

Alan

So excited for this one!

Eileen

As confounding as it is tragic. Again, the script is superb. How many of us are worn down, bit by bit, by the types of insensitive and just plain dumb public comments exemplified in the closing words of this case file? It becomes demoralising after a while.
