Episode numbering on the Patreon exclusive RSS feed
Added 2021-05-31 10:00:14 +0000 UTCHello all. When we announced the Patreon Picks episodes earlier this year, we mentioned that the episodes would eventually find their way onto our main feed, as we don't like to keep cases behind a paywall.
The first Patreon Picks episode we released this year, '657 Boulevard' was published on the main feed as case 177 this past weekend. However, you would have seen that the episode you received on Patreon ad free and a week early, was also numbered Case 177 - but titled 'The Woman Without a Face'.
It didn't take us long to realise how confusing it was to have the same case number, but a different case title.
So moving forward, when we release a Patreon Picks episode on the main feed, we will also re post it on Patreon with the corresponding case number. It will be the exact same episode that you have already heard. We are not trying to make it seem like extra content - it's only to keep the chronological case numbering the same across the main feed and the Patreon exclusive feed. We have now gone back and done this for this past weekends episodes. So you will see '657 Boulevard' is now Case 177 on the main feed and the Patreon exclusive feed. 'The Woman Without a Face' is now Case 178 on the Patreon exclusive feed (as it will be when it is released on the main feed this upcoming weekend).
There will be a run time difference on the Patreon Picks episodes when they are released on the main feed, as ads will be included. The episode is exactly the same as what you have already heard though.
All the Patreon Picks episodes will eventually make their way onto the main feed, however you will continue to get them months in advance and get to vote on what episodes we release.
