Y'all... to everyone who took issue with or found it strange the flowery language in this audio: I guarantee if it had been performed with a Spanish speaker's accent it would have made more sense. Español es una idioma poética. I mean, come on, it IS one of the "romance languages" (meaning rooted in Latin, but, still is often thought of as romantic as well). It makes sense that a character whose supposed primer idioma (first language) is Spanish would speak poetically and use flowery phrasing for his treasured, beloved wife, with whom he is so passionately in love AND hasn't had much time with of late. Solution: get an accent coach and give the script another go. Hablas la idioma con el acento, then hold the accent over into the English lines. With that, you'll have Mr. Robinson eliciting the mental image of the red hot Latino lover.
