Comments

Love it when old friends pop in to say hi in a story.

Rich Grove

Excellent!

Carmen Beaudry

Woo doggie! I need more!

Kyle McKenna

Well, now I've caught up on Steve Reads and feel foolish

V as in Victor

loved it.

Sharon Browning

This was such fun!

Samantha Price Fischer

Beautifuly crafted as always. Thanks for this short but sweet story.

Lisa Nielson

Excellent use of alliteration in a lot of those opening lines. Powerful metaphors too. I'd love to see what you'd do with some Old English style poetry.

V as in Victor

Short but sweet!!

Ms.Goldie

If y’all wrote a book full of short stories in this universe I’d be the first person to pre-order. Y’all make me wanna write again 💕

VMS

Nicely done, Young Shell, nicely done. 😍

Lisa Campbell

Aw dang! I thought it was in August. I hope you come out this way another time

Rose Bekker

Afraid you just missed us Family.

DeepNerd Media

Finally got a chance to listen. What a nice chilly treat! I so appreciate that you made time for this while you’re on tour. I loved the show that came to san francisco last year, and hoping I can make it up to Portland this year

Rose Bekker

Ah yes, a nice slice during the tour! Love it!

Liz Heness

Who knew my penchant for collecting nasty bruises would come in handy if ever I have to go a-wandrin’ through them hills.

Demolition Dormouse

Got it, thank you! I'm currently in season 2, and absolutely in love, this is my bread and butter. Thank you all for what you do :D

Ian

You'll get more out of it if you've made it through Season 2 at least.

DeepNerd Media

We usually recommend release order but this is standalone.

DeepNerd Media

Is this a standalone from the overall podcast, or should I listen to the rest of it before listening to Strangers?

Ian

More regional weird things please please!!!

Lizzy_belle

Oh I’m sorry if it came across like yall aren’t, I love your content and really appreciate everything yall do. I was just trying to give some ideas I thought could be some cool stories, I’m sorry if it came off any other kind of way

Andrew

I simply adore you two or few geniuses. Listening to your stories makes things right. Wrong, but right. you know what I mean.

C Gee

We can’t take requests, and we publish Patreon stories monthly as described in your tier benefits. We are two people. We do what we can.

DeepNerd Media

I would love a short story like that and teen spirit that involves times when daughter Dooley is free from the babe, or short stories that come out every couple weeks between seasons that give us time with characters we don’t see very often like horned head striking a deal with some poor soul, or a coven of green practitioners dealing with some haint haunting a local church, something that gives us a feel for how other parts of the green and inner dark and unaffiliated get along when major story points aren’t happening

Andrew

We’re on tour. We can’t do that.

DeepNerd Media

I wish they would do a series between seasons of just short stories featuring characters we don’t get a lot of lore or time with

Andrew

Awww I missed *redacted!* It was so good! I hope we hear more about these monsters

Matt Cola

Oh man! That was amazing! I want, no, NEED to know more!

Marc Kristopher Sopper

This was wicked awesome!

Nancy Cole

Love a short story, but when they’re this good - I find myself wishing it was a whole season.

Jill Spears

The sound work was exquisite here. I was legit creeped out. Also got Stranger from TMA vibes from this.

Page Chase

A traditional horror story, masterfully done. Including appearance of an old favourite. Great stuff! Thank you.

Cubaselito

RIP my heart after listening to that spooky beginning and then getting startled out of my wits by an evil tween (he thinks it's sooo funny to scare me when I'm distracted. And this was an excellent distraction.) Great story. I knew I was in for a treat when I heard "a short story by Steve Shell." Thanks, ya'll, for keeping me distracted and spooked! 🖤

Jennifer Oney-Hooven

I’m in love with this one. Listened to it on my replica cathedral radio the other night and it was amazing!

Wow that gives me chills. As always, we'll done.😁

WyamondWolf

Probably not. That's in Monte Cook's court, and they likely have that already planned out at this point.

DeepNerd Media

We gonna see “Strangers” is the TTRPG expansion?

Medic105

The way I immediately started hollering

Apologies for the earlier comment. Thank you for this treat!
