Drawing Maps - January 2021 - Sangfielle Characters #8: Chine and Marn Redux

Hello and welcome to the final of these pre-Sangfielle Drawing Maps episodes! Hopefully they've been enjoyable over the last couple of months.

Today, we're back with Ali and Dre, talking over the characters who would become Marn and Chine. At this point, there was a lot of (perceived) overlap in how we were conceptualizing these characters, and we wanted to sit down and hammer out which of those overlaps we wanted to maintain and which we wanted to shy away from.

Along the way, we also managed to better define each of those characters! Coming into this, Marn wasn't yet a little guy, and Chine was still aiming to be some sort of animal person (with transformation being tied to class abilities, eventually, but not being core to the way they appear from the jump). Additionally, the Telluricist Union/Keen and the Cleavers were still being defined, and we hit some great elements of both in this conversation.

A quick note, which I mentioned on a recent tips: In the very near future, we'll be combining/reworking some segment of the Drawing Maps, Mapmaker, and Tips at the Table bonuses. This is informed from the survey we posted last month, and I think will lead to something y'all will like! One of my favorite things we've done on Drawing Maps is the mid-season post-mortems, but I've always felt that they're a little weird given that they only feature my voice. SO, in the near future (maybe as soon as the next one of these), we'll be doing a sort of mid-season, arc-by-arc post-mortem series, made up of me and at least some members of a given arc's players. You should still send questions for those to tipsatthetable@gmail.com, and for now use the arc name in the subject so that we can differentiate them!
