GrowthRPG V0.4.0 Hotfix

Comments

So for some reason if i take the raving fan into passive combat after a few fights a fight will start where the raving fan is the only one to get combat turns wondering if there's a way to get around that

Zerochance

yeah the line 130 is a known error, has something to do with having multiple saves

DigitalFurBelow

Getting a crash walking up to the Rat companion after cusomizing her. i have notice the acceleration, but it still goes not fast enough if i have a big number of attribution points. i mean like now i get 10000 points and i just want to allocate them all to the size, then i need to click and press the arrow for almost 1min to finish after i reallocated points. so i think it would be better if the level-up page has the space to input the index players want.

are you saying when you click on the arrows it takes a while? if you hold down the button it should accelerate.

DigitalFurBelow

there is one thing might be inconvenient. everytime i reallocate my attributes i need to press and waiting for a bit long time to reach the point. i wonder if developers can add some textedit widgts in the level-up page so that the attributes can be input

Found it! And made it super big, just like the rest of my followers, heh.

There is a small work around to get the rat to appear as a companion after defeating them in the sewer for hotfix but you would need the version previously (0.4.0) basically after defeating the rat and saving, you extract the save file from 0.4.0 and then transfer it over to the newer one 0.4.0B, doing so you should be able to recruit the rat on the hotfix version.

Robert Blake

Where do you find the giant rat companion?

Eldeecue

I think I might've just encountered a new bug with the hotfix. If you have the Giant Rat companion already following you, tell it to stop following and have the Raving Fan Companion start following you, every time you enter (passive) combat, the rat spawns but no attacks are made by anyone. If you choose to do this on active combat, the Raving Fan will transfer attributes to both you and the Giant Rat companion (even though you told it to stop following), and the Rat will continuously fall through the ground making active combat very difficult

I know the Sharks drop it but I'm not sure where to go to reliably farm for it. Also abit of a bug but Raving fan gets stuck in a casting pose after battles and doesn't reset to defualt till i change to another area like from the overworld to the sewer

Aaron Hammack

The path I want players to take is to go down to try to leave go down to the sewers to level, hit a wall with the boss and then leave, at which point they should be high enough level to go outside and do the blacksmith's quest. At least thats what it is in theory. I also will have more things around town to find so players are encourages to search and find the sewers, going to fill it out slowly

DigitalFurBelow

you can get it from the sharks

DigitalFurBelow

Hello all I just wonder if someone could give me an idea of where I could farm the Iatowashi katana? I only ask as I like to have one of each weaon to try out.

Now that the hotfix is out, here's my thoughts on the latest update! THE GOOD: -I think this is the nicest looking dungeon so far! The lighting changes especially help bring the location to life. -Littering the area with upgrade materials was a really good idea, as it helps establish how useful they are, especially since if you die in the dungeon after collecting a few, you can use them to upgrade your sword and immediately see the difference after heading back in. -Having an early level dungeon helps alleviate the grind of the early game. -The little loot rooms are pretty exciting! THINGS THAT COULD BE IMPROVED: -While I think it's neat that you get an extension of the blacksmith storyline, since trying to leave the town will have a character advise you to do the sewer first (Something that I think was a good idea,) newer players will probably focus on the sewer before leaving the town and wont have the context for the blacksmith story, nor will they be able to have equipment to upgrade apart from their starting sword (unless they grind in the tall grass.) -The spawn rate for dungeon keys is so low that you'll end up passing a lot of the chests and treasure rooms without being able to open them, and that kind of sucks. -Since the well is a starting dungeon, I feel like it should be in a more obvious location for the player to find, or at least have some signs pointing to it or something. -While the low level enemies are nice, you can still encounters enemies like sharkuns through barrel spawns, which can kill an early level run. I also feel like there should be more enemies per floor to lower the amount of times a person would have to rerun the dungeon to get to the rat key

I think that was the case. Still, would be a good idea, just in case people jump the gun that they can read it as well

Freshmeat

are you sure you are on the right version? It should say 0.4.0b on the title screen. I jumped the gun a bit early on the post and it hadn't updated on itchi.io yet so if you downloaded in the first couple minutes it might be the old version

DigitalFurBelow

I still get the giant skeletons. Maybe need to put a version in the file name for both ends?
