Astro Kat Update April

Hi All!

Here's another Astro Kat update. The demo is coming along nicely. I'm still prettying it up, adding audio, and I need to write proper text for dialogue/quests.

There is already an Itch.io page for the demo HERE no download yet, but I'm still adding info.

The save system has been tested and I've fixed a lot of stuff with it so hopefully it will hold up when you guys get to play.
A lot of works has been done on UI, and it's almost presentable. One thing that is still completely missing is a controls screen.

Here's the overview of work done since last update:

UI

Area Map

Set up a way for a pretty clean looking area map with a custom shader.
Once set up you don't need to worry about the layout anymore, and it auto scales.
Will share the setup in a few days because I think it will be useful for people :)

Main Menu

Main menu is pretty much done, Kat and Bot follow your cursor/selected object :3 Tracking build number now too.

Here's a little detail that's not huge but I really liked to have, a screenshot of where you saved.

Rest of the UI is in a pretty good state now. Just need to clean up the Log List and some small other parts.

Digging

Added a digging mechanic that you will later need a special tool for.
Also added a happy (placeholder) animation for when you pick things up!

Baddies

Enemies can see Kat again :D

Ice

Added slippery ice controls (sorry)

Botfriend Stamina

As mentioned in the previous dev diary, I added a little stamina circle to show how long Botfriend can keep you afloat. And there's fall damage for big distances. Yes Kat's don't always land safely.
