Making him an accountant is so clever (I originally thought of him as a chemist, so they were in similar fields, but he discredited hers), none of this is adding up. While he’s successfully built a life that can withstand very particular shocks, he has left himself totally vulnerable to unaccounted for tumults…like the smokeshow witch next door. He has very limited practice enduring stressful interpersonal situations and learning he can tolerate them, so of course he’s freaking out in the grocery store. Of course he’s bristling against this disturbance. She is a cataclysm! As he says later, it feels like it’s going to split him apart. He’d like to share his mind with her, but without having to practice the new skill of speaking his truest desires aloud. Soooo clever that the pathway of least resistance is the one that incidentally has him do just that (worst/best crisis #2 - she knows you’re a freaky frog!!!). The potion is literally making this happen, but, metaphorically, his thoughts are so fucking loud, she can hear/see them all over his face in the grocery store and even when they’re both at home two houses away. What a cutiepie Speaker to get to share a psychic link with. He’s so desperate for connection and vitality, but too afraid to take the leap…..unless someone is there holding his hand and patiently waiting to jump with him. You’ve alluded to this possibly being a series (oh HELL YEAH), and I have to whoop whoop at the idea. There’s an arc here that I’d really like to see in multiple parts (if that idea continues to be appealing to you!). It feels like he’s been living life in black & white, and she’s introduced color. Actually, maybe it’s more accurate to say she’s revealed to him how colorful he really is, embodied in their sharing sensation and thoughts. He's far more similar to this sexy, seemingly alien person than he would allow himself to believe. The potion DID NOT make him talk that way. He was uninhibited, not transformed. He’s also a rather reserved, cautious person generally, doing a thankless job where people need him but are ultimately intimidated by him. Being a witch is more glamorous in his eyes, as evidenced by who he thinks she would typically date/have sex with. But she’s not intimidated by him, and he’s the star to her! To L, he is the colorful disturbance, and she’s embracing it with open arms because she has much more experience doing so, magic being a finicky and mutable thing. He becomes so brave when she's with him... Oh I’m sick, whenever the wedding audio happens, this pair is deffo in the running to be the bride and groom. The progressively more insane inner monologue was Very Good (respectful replacement words). He’s so upset she’s so hot. “YouturnmeonsomuchIdontknowwhattofuckingdowithmyself”. @revali was mentioning this on Goon With The Wind, but it’s so fun hearing how upset Speakers are by how hot they find the Ls. I think part of what makes that so hot is that, in society at large, women, femmes, and folks AFAB are, by virtue of just having bodies, demonized for drawing out animalistic lust in men and thus to blame for any harm that befalls them. Here, the Speakers own that they are completely undone by the Ls due to their own unbridled attraction and that feeling of being so enraged by realizing how little control they have when it comes to L is transmuted into mutually fulfilling experiences where L gets to feel the power of that unbridled lust while being not victimized, but deified by it. 🙏🏻 August. I have so many thoughts but first off….. absolutely insane to drop this right before the stream, I may never recover from that. Onto the actual thoughts- I really loved the hot start, and also that tag made me laugh, but it was a fun way to great right into it. I immediately was trying to figure out the plot, was it real, a dream, etc. and that hit really well for the story. My absolutely favorite part of this audio was the use of “us” and “we” - I’ve never in my life seen “Make us come” or “We’re gonna come” and I didn’t know how hot that would be especially in this context?? You’ve unlocked a new layer of dirty talk with this one and I have to say it absolutely hit perfectly. The other thing is something I caught at the end that I don’t know if it was intentional or not but in the aftercare bit, Speaker says “I love… magic” - I’m not saying it was him about to drop an ILY, but I am saying that I really see why you said during the stream this speaker could be in the running for the endgame superlative. This speaker is clearly down bad and dizzy for listener, very “i just can’t get her out of my head” / “she’s everywhere i look” vibes and I could see a part three with them in an established relationship. Anyways, this one was 10/10 and the sound quality was especially good in this one!!
