Was this a success? Maybe. I definitely don't think that they turned out bad in any sense, so that's a win I suppose.
HOWEVER. There is major orange peel on these parts, but especially so on the passenger side door skin. Yikes. It's really bad. That's okay though! I'm not sure if I said anything about wet sanding and polishing, but I am going to do that. My mind was actually set on not doing either of those things since a little bit of orange peel is completely normal, even from modern factory cars. But who am I kidding? I've already done so much on this car. A little bit of sandpaper and a polishing action really isn't asking a lot considering.
Also what. The. Hell. There was a single June bug that bombarded the passenger door skin. The only one in the entire barn! I couldn't even see any others outside. Luckily, he was right on the edge of the door, not on an outward facing surface. It was after the first coat of clear went on and before the second, so I was able to just clear over it without tooooo much of an issue. I'm sure with the wet sanding and polishing I'll be doing, it'll be fixed, no problem.
Orange peel and bugs aside, I am so freaking happy to be making progress on this again. I ran out of the epoxy primer (used it as a sealer before color) and had to wait on more to come in. I have actually been filming stuff for Part 12 while I was waiting... but I'll post more about that later :)
