Deep within the volcanic terrains of Ignisar, where fiery rivers crisscross and dark spires pierce the sky, the clerics of the Molten Monastery practiced their sacred rites. It is whispered that their high priestess, Liora, emerged from an eruption, her essence intertwined with the land's fervor.

As time flowed, the monastery's guardians felt a need for symbols to represent their unwavering devotion and the spirit of Ignisar. A union of esteemed geomancers and blessed smiths undertook the task. Using molten gold and fragments of age-old lava stones during a solar zenith, they crafted the first of these scepters.

Scepter of Searing Stronghold

Weapon (mace), rare (requires attunement by a cleric)

The scepter's head, like a fractured chalice, releases molten lava. This lava glows, casting dim light in a 5-foot radius, without harming its bearer.

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with this magic weapon. All damage dealt is fire, replacing its bludgeoning type. When you hit a creature of the undead type with it, the creature takes an extra 2d6 fire damage, and it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC 15) or become blinded until the start of your next turn.

Additionally, the scepter grants the wielder the ability to detect the presence of undead. When holding the mace, you can use an action to expend 1 charge and sense the presence of undead within 60 feet of you for the next minute. The scepter has 3 charges and regains all expended charges at dawn. When the last charge is used, the wielder must roll a d20. On a roll of 20, a lava stronghold rises from the chalice. The scepter regains all charges, and for the next minute, it deals an additional 1d6 fire damage on melee attacks. However, on a roll of 1, the mace succumbs to its fiery essence, melting and becoming irreparably destroyed.
