2022-05-25 20:56:12 +0000 UTCI kind of get where people are coming from, as I understand how annoying it gets when people just keep over hyping a series. I felt this way with Game of Thrones and Stranger Things. But, honestly it just sounds like people want the poll to be RNG based or their character to win. If a character is obscure, why would anyone vote for them? A poll is usually done to find the popular opinion. Which means the "flavor of the month" is going to be desired. Not only because of their current appeal, but also since there isn't any cards of them out yet. Unfortunately you can't make everyone happy. Only thing I can think of that would placate some of the people upset is if there was a "seasonal anime poll" but, I think that would be pointless. As no one requested characters from any of the other current seasonal anime's other than Spy x Family. So what would be the point of that.

2022-05-24 21:21:34 +0000 UTCIt is fair if that is what everyone wants. I could see if it was a card that already has a lot of good copies, but if someone is hot then of course they would be popular. It would be unfair for people to not have a character they find hot just because that character is popular. Some of the characters that I see people complain about I am hard pressed to find 1 decent copy (if any at all) anywhere on the internet. I don't get why people have so much anger towards popularity when popularity comes from that thing successfully doing something right. Nothing becomes popular out of rng.

I'm only arguing in favor of keeping the wildcard. I'm ultimately not the one who runs this Patreon and it's Evaan's decision on what is allowed in these polls

Not trying to be mean, but if the fans are choosing one card over another what can Evaan really do. I think the polls are fair enough. Sometimes you just gotta accept that the character you want isn't as popular as some other cards. I know it sucks sometimes. ( I really wanted Cammy or Nobara to win) But sometimes you just gotta deal with it

That would lead to the only anime characters winning these polls being waifu of the month and Shonen characters from high profile anime. Wildcard has let characters from underrated franchises to get attention they otherwise wouldn't get

2022-05-24 14:03:38 +0000 UTCEvaan, it would not be possible to keep this method in which the wildcard is replaced by the second place in the anime category, so maybe the polls would be fairer and would not always win the waifu of the moment, of course also people who have been waiting for some waifus would have more opportunity, although you may have to make other modifications in your patreon to make this possible, it is only an option that I share, you have the last word evaan ^^.
