i dunno how familiar you guys are with these guys, but I've looked them up quite a bit since their debut film TALK TO ME, became the sleeper horror hit of the summer. Truly some very polarizing, yet infectious individuals. I know Joe Rogan saw the film, and mentioned how much he loved it on instagram. Recently he had both brothers on his podcast, which is just the most incredible opportunity for any artist. Get Joe Rogan on your side, there is power to be had. So glad he gave these guys a platform, and interesting to hear them talk in a more long form format. Especially since I could never imagine these guys sitting still for more than five minutes at a time before this. They are...a lot to handle, as you might expect. Even Rogan seemed a little shocked and uneasy at times. For me, TALK TO ME is one of the more emotionally effective films of the year, and one that resonated with me on an intimate level. I get the destruction and the juvenile/mischievous behavior in the movie from these two. That much is very clear. But neither of them seem too introspective. So I had been trying to find the connection between these silly, very ADHD personalities, and this all consuming darkness of the film. I think here I finally got a sense of those origins somewhat, and they even discuss their family history with depression at a certain point. Someone in the comment section described the brothers as the real-life versions of Terrence and Philip. I can never unhear that. Most ingenious observation of all time. XD
