oh yeah. Winkler absolutely kills it. That first date he goes on with the detective had me dying.

2023-06-06 01:02:59 +0000 UTCI haven't seen that one, but I know it's supposed to be a good one. But yes Winkler is so funny in it. Perfect casting. But I love Bill Hader here too. Completely convincing, yet unconvincing at the same time, but all in the best ways.

The flirting with abstraction, breaking from logic, and the looseness of the humor mixed with the grim, is all kinda resting in an interesting place. There's real confidence to it...and often the irony doesnt feel hamfisted through the dark comedy. That's tough to pull off.

It’s an interesting look into acting, how it can serve as a means of accessing your emotions while also enabling you to build a facade around yourself, and how that correlates and clashes with Barry and his secret life as a hit man. I need to check out later seasons, as the show supposedly grows darker and more interesting the further along it goes.

Love the side of Bill Hader it brings out and I really love Henry Winklers post-Happy Days career cause he'sso fucking funny here. I haven't followed up on it, not for any particular reasons but would like to at some point. Kind of related cause they're both HBO shows that ended recently, tried Succession yet? Just watched the first season over the weekend and had a great time.

2023-06-05 21:21:27 +0000 UTCLoved damn near every episode of that show. Bill Hader directs more and more episodes and his skills sharpen as the show goes on. To me, he’s got one of the most exciting filmmaking styles for the future of Hollywood. Also, it’s my favorite Winkler performance ever.
