If the red team crosses the blue stripe they get a point. The rules are hard to follow for sure (I was in band in high school and had to be at the football games for halftime and wanted the rules explained so I could enjoy the game) for sports, but the gist of it is first to have more points in an allotted amount of time wins. If the teams tie it goes into overtime.
