I swear Smallville is the only show that can get me emotional lol. Especially any scene with Johnathan Kent after his death, any time he shows up, it's like I'm holding back emotions.. Smallville had some great writers.

2020-07-16 04:17:11 +0000 UTCYou've had a lot of really bad takes and critical misunderstandings of this show, as your perspectives are usually very one dimensional and only take in plots and themes on the surface level (despite you usually trying to make them sound nuanced and complex), but this one really takes the cake. It all went right over your head.
2020-07-16 00:30:36 +0000 UTCI think with your run with the show, you have picked up a dense catalog of lore and stories. Once you pick up those comics, or other dc properties' works, (animated movies, etc) you are heading down the rabbit hole with the rest of us my dear sir lmao And there are plenty of variations and stories for you to pick and choose regarding the fate of ma and pa Kent and/or the kent farm

2020-07-15 17:17:36 +0000 UTCYeah i dont see why they would sell it either but it is what it is i just wish there was more show. I gotta check that comic out so i can see their life in metropolis
2020-07-15 17:15:35 +0000 UTCAs a kid, I never quite understood the logic behind Clark deciding to sell the farm. Like who can just give away their ancestral home that means so much to them just like that? Clark's whole holding onto things speech never quite cut it for me. Now I realize that it's just the writers way of trying to get everything all set up for Superman, going the SW prequels route of rushing to tie up loose ends so to speak. Because in the comics after Jonathan died, Clark moved to Metropolis to get a job at the Planet and Martha just stayed on the farm by herself where Clark would come visit. But in this version, since Martha moved to D.C., the writers had to throw something else together to explain why Clark and Lois would be moving to Metropolis and just abandon the farm. Their explanation never quite worked for me personally but they did build it up and write it in a cohesive way.
