Conner was an awful character and thank god he went away after this episode.

2020-07-19 04:33:55 +0000 UTCYeah he definitely went full on marauder in that scene. I cant even imagine what lionel is going to be like with Darkside corrupting him
2020-07-15 00:57:37 +0000 UTCI have mixed feelings with this episode. I liked most of it but I hated Conner being so violent towards Lois and not having that violence addressed at all. I would have like an scene with Clark having a talk with Conner about that.

2020-07-14 16:03:32 +0000 UTCYeah you're right on that im thinking the same thing cause he owned him pretty quick
2020-07-14 16:03:16 +0000 UTCI think that in the fight with Conner, Clark was letting Conner hit him with how easy he was getting up and how quickly he beat Conner.

2020-07-14 10:23:12 +0000 UTCIts a little more than a nod when the line is exactly the same excluding "son". Nods are nomaly done without words...this is either a homage or a replica.

2020-07-14 08:48:04 +0000 UTCThere’s totally a nod to Jonathan in the season 3 premiere episodes where he confronts Clark on Red K, the episode where Jor-El gives Jonathan superpowers. Jonathan tells Clark “You’re coming home with me, son” and in this episode, during Clark and Connor’s fight, Clark tells Connor “You’re coming home with me.” If I remember right, it’s similar set up in shots and everything too with Clark being above Connor. Cool little nod I always enjoy
2020-07-14 07:14:24 +0000 UTCI realize that there are several reasons why they couldn't/wouldn't do this, but I personally wouldn't have minded a Superboy spin off of this show AT ALL and I'm usually very particular about spinoffs. I guess Young Justice kind of made up for that lol.

2020-07-14 06:38:08 +0000 UTCYep Connor Kent = Superboy who is genetically the love child of Clark and Lex. I really enjoyed this episode because of the different family/relationship dynamics. Tess-Lionel, Alexander/Connor- Lionel, Clark-Lionel, and Clark-Connor.

2020-07-14 06:12:14 +0000 UTCI was going to mention the hair thing but I didn't want to go on a random tangent from what I wanted to talk about so I said to myself "eh, someone will point it out." Lol

2020-07-14 05:40:00 +0000 UTCI think the decision about the father-son vs brother relationship is really just a result of the premise of the show as a prequel (younger superman). In the comics, Superman was already Superman, when Connor showed up. But yeah, like you said, it's no biggie.

2020-07-14 05:32:15 +0000 UTCThey didn't dye Conner's hair. His genetics just started mutating towards Clark more, leaving behind Lex's memories and physical attributes, like his red hair color. Conner is Superboy, by the way. I don't think it's a spoiler to mention we don't see or hear from him again. The writers quickly realized it wouldn't make much sense for him to go to Smallville High, so they write him off and say that he moves to Washington D.C. so Martha can look after him. That's where he is in the Season 11 comics, and his story moves on from there.

2020-07-14 05:31:40 +0000 UTCI really like this episode. Really the only thing I'd change is I'd have Clark actually embrace the father role especially to parallel the Lionel-2 and Alexander dynamic. Because technically speaking, Conner IS Clark and Lex's son, everyone who knows anything about Superboy knows that. I was even writing a climax scene in my head similar to the one they did of Conner having to choose sides and Lionel-2 trying to pull the whole "I'm your father, you belong with me" crap except if Clark had accepted the title of father from the start, Conner could've turned the tables on Lionel with a line like "I'm not your son... I'm his!" That's just a personal nitpick. Don't get it twisted, I'm not angry or anything. What they were trying to do does work. Clark choosing the brother role rather than father is not only comic accurate but might also be interpreted as Clark viewing Conner as like a surrogate brother in place of his real brother (or sister, we don't know) that died.
