5/7/18 and Game Jam Aftermath
Added 2018-05-08 01:15:11 +0000 UTCHello again everyone.
So, the game jam has come and gone, Godspeak might have posted the winner by now, or will do so shortly. Last I checked, the poll on the thead on aotk had me a few points behind T_Rugen's game, so I doubt that changed. Regardless of how it measured up to all the other entries, I'm glad I made this game. I learned a lot more about Contruct 2, and really hit my peak productivity that week, even with an albeit light week at school. Also, another notable thing is that I earned the most money from one content release since I started this patreon, thanks to several people who donated through my Kofi, in particular a handful of very generous donations.
It makes me eager to hear about the next game jam, since I have loads of other small ideas that I'd like to play around with. I'd still like to rig something up that uses player's microphones or webcams. I found out Construct 2 actually supports voice recognition. Maybe a game where you try to argue your way out of a spanking using your own words? Who knows.
As for now, I'm going to be very busy the next few weeks with finals coming up, but I'd like to keep improving on Discipline Delivered during what free time I have then. Replacing the current character graphics is my current priority there. After that will be fleshing out the story elements and adding two teenaged characters. Depending on when that gets done I'll either keep going from there or move back to Spanquest II. It would be nice to switch between games every month or so, where I put a months work into each at a time. If you all were willing, I could release paid updates of Discipline Delivered after a month of work, and then work on Spanquest II for the next month, and release a paid update of that whenever I complete something substantial. That kind of constant workflow and cash incentive for me would keep my programming skills polished from working on two different projects, and would give you all new content at least once every two months. With how much work I got done in a week, I could probably completely polish and finish DD in about 3 massive updates or so, and then start a completely new project.
I'd like to hear each of your opinions on this, since it will decide on what I continue from here on out. Would you like me to focus on SQII whenever possible, or switch to a "general spanking game development" with SQII as the overarching major project, with smaller projects sprinkled in between?

It was good, but I'm more interested in stuff which is about receiving spanking, which is what I liked about spank quest before. Less interested in DD for that reason.

2018-05-08 15:49:00 +0000 UTCI really loved DD, but I'd prefer you focus on SQ2 for now
2018-05-08 10:57:07 +0000 UTCReally, the only way I could support focusing on DD or even splitting time with DD would be if you were to somehow directly link some of the interface options to SQ2. I understand that working on DD might help you get more of a feel for what you can do with Construct and what you can add to SQ2, plus DD is an enjoyable game so I'm not against you working on it some but like others have said SQ2 is incredibly delayed for new content (or even just a workable version with the old content) and its been a frustrating wait. So I'm against you spending more than 1/4 of your available time on DD (which often isn't much anyway with school) until at least you get this Construct version of SQ2 up to where it was when you started your Patreon. (which at least you could play everything in the first town) Right now we have a super buggy 'last release' for RPGmaker and a few teaser demos (also in Rpgmaker and mostly abandoned when you switched engines) and as far as I am aware not so much as even one playable demo of even the first Inn in Construct.

2018-05-08 07:41:42 +0000 UTCAside from tech demos, you haven't produced playable SQII material in something like five months. Which is fine, life is busy, but if you're not abandoning it, I'm against halving the speed of an already slow development process.

2018-05-08 06:38:33 +0000 UTCmy vote is SQII. the SQ series is in my top spanking games and would deeply want to see more of it.

2018-05-08 05:17:52 +0000 UTCPersonally, I'd prefer it if you focused on SQ2 and got all the technical stuff sorted out, so you can start adding in the story and character elements (which I imagine are more fun to make).

2018-05-08 04:45:32 +0000 UTCI mentioned it last post but I would love to see more DD. I feel like working on a smaller project like that would really help in the long run, particularly when it comes to doing things in SQII. Also I wouldn't mind being charged for its updates.

2018-05-08 04:43:33 +0000 UTCTo be honest I would prefer SQ2. At least until you made it far enough that we can play a bit. After that a monthly cycle would be ok I guess. But you are the artist so it’s up to you to decide.
