AoT Double-ups

So we're planning on releasing some of the reactions as 2-in-1s on YouTube, as some eps are a bit quieter and a lot of people are suggesting it.

However, some people have said there are some obvious eps to cover in a 2-on-1, and I'm sure also some other eps that should be their own video.

Without spoilers (of course!) can you give me an idea of some eps that would make sense to do together, and if there are any obvious single eps that will make for their own video. If there's a clear consensus it'll just help our workflow

But yeah, no spoilers! Thanks!

Think critically instead of just having faith in these fallible humans. You have to admit that some scenes in the openings foreshadow even to the point of spoiling things the viewer wouldn't ever think about.

When it comes to the AoT community there are often people with well meaning intentions who nonetheless try to over-complicate and spoil reactors while trying to protect them. Anytime someone tells you to skip part of the show—whether it be an opening or an after-credit scene—I’d recommend ignoring them. Again, they mean well, but the creators of this show knew what they were doing, they do not spoil their own audience.

As far as double ups I’m sure you can play it by ear. There are some which are so monumental and will perform so well as their own videos they deserve their own episode and some are less packed with huge reactive moments that it makes sense to bundle.

These other people covered it already but I'd like to add I recommend not watching the credit scene in Season 3 people will mention. It's just gonna spoil something you're gonna see later anyway. It's not new or unique footage either it's just a edited version of exactly what's to come.

I know AoT is amazing Jon but please JJK is less of a commitment with there only being 26 episodes so far (season 2 is 2 episodes in) and you’re RIGHT where it’s all gonna start kicking off and it becomes a really good unique Shonen.

I tend to agree a little more with Jose and Bogdan. AOT is kind of a feel thing, so if you feel like they're setting something up or you just generally feel like you need more context. Watch the next episode so it sticks. You don't want to forget anything in this show

If you feel at the end damn I need to watch another just do it, do it off a feel basis. As usually a series you would watch on Netflix is 1 hour per episode (3 episodes of anime) so just go off what you feel imo.

Yeah I agree

I agree with Kristian Hatakka's OVA recommendations above. Note a few more things: 1. Episode 3.5: “Ilse’s Notebook" - Some would prefer that you watch it after episode 1 of season 2. I personally don't mind, as long as you keep track of the timeline of season 2 (its not easy). 2. Seasons 1, 3, and 4 in attack on titan are split into parts. *Season 1 release timing is pretty much irrelevant as there's no particular OVA that is super important to watch during the season (Though OVA "distress" is debatable). *Season 3 has two parts, first part ends on episode 12. *Season 4 part 1 ends on episode 16. *Seasons 4 part 2 ends on episode 28. *Season 4 part 3 is a "special", but it gets a little weird. "The final chapters" is sort of "Season 4 part 3 part 1", as the final one has yet to be released. Anyway, that's it! I hope it makes things clearer for you. Don't google anything about the show and beware of comments on youtube. You may want someone to moderate for you, or stick to patron comments only. Either way, If you think u got spoiled, perhaps you actually weren't - as there's no confirmation for whatever you think was spoiled for you. Can't wait for more man!

Spoiler-free recommendations :) I opted for episodes that "flow" best together. One continues the other type of thing, rather than "watch best episodes together" rational (though that is sometimes the case anyway!). Episodes that go well together: (starting from where you're currently at) SEASON 1: 11+12+13 | 17+18+19 (optional together) | 24+25 SEASON 2: 6+7 | 11+12 SEASON 3: 1+2 (optional together) | 20+21+22 (some would say it's best to watch them separately as they have a lot of info to "take in" and digest. Depends on your mental capacity haha). | Episodes from 13-18 are sort of "bunched together", I would recommend simply watching more than one whenever you feel like it. Emphasis on 16+17+18. I personally think that 19 is an episode that should be watched separately, some might say otherwise. SEASON 4: This one was tricky. 6+7 | 12+13 (if you feel like it, not necessary) | 17+18 | 19+20 | 26+27 | At the end of season 4 there's a "special" episode (season 4 part 3?) which contains 2 episodes in a single video special. I think It should be watched together (which is the same as how it was released). Aside from that, you should watch OVAs (official episodes of AOT, but exist outside of seasonal episode lists). They are usually very good and shouldn't be skipped. Please ask other patrons for the recommended order :)

Here's also some spoiler free info on the OVA episodes: OVAs are special episodes that were not aired during the original season but released alongside select volumes of the manga. They were released as part of several bonus DVDs, which is why they are also called OADs (Original Animation DVDs). There are 8 OAD episodes in the show. They are not mandatory to the story, but give more context to it. Some of them are really great! It's up to you if you want to watch them after the whole show or in the middle. I would recommend watching them between seasons. This way they don't cut the spacing of the original series. Here is the appropriate timing to watch each one. I recommend watching them also in the order below. (The number of the episode correlates with the timeline of the show.) OADs 1-5 can be watched after season 1 (Ep. 25). These episodes are: -Episode 3.5: “Ilse’s Notebook: Notes from a Scout Regiment Member” (December 9, 2013) -Episode 3.25: “A Sudden Visitor: The Torturous Curse of Adolescence” (April 9, 2014) -Episode 3.75: “Distress” (August 8, 2014) -Episode 0.5A: “A Choice with No Regrets: Part One” (December 9, 2014) -Episode 0.5B: “A Choice with No Regrets: Part Two” (April 9, 2015) OADs 6-7 can be watched after season 2 (Ep. 37). These are: -Episode 16.5A: “Wall Sina, Goodbye: Part One” (December 8, 2017) -Episode 16.5B: “Wall Sina, Goodbye: Part Two” (April 9, 2018) OAD 8 can be watched after season 3 part 1 (Ep. 49). The name is: -Episode ???: “Lost in the cruel world” (August 9, 2018)

There will always be a degree of setup at play cause these types of stories can’t give you everything at the start. You should just play it by ear after you watch each one, and if something crazy doesnt happen in one episode it’s probably being setup to happen in the next. Same for JJK and p much any of the good anime I’ve seen. They are constantly building towards something bigger.

I think you should decide after watching an episode if you feel to add another one.In AOT each episode is a set up for the next one,so you ll know by yourself what to do,whitout any hype might be induced for some episodes.

Bogdan Trd

Not necessarily any specific episodes because AOT has so many cliffhangers and you could argue A LOT of episodes could be double ups, but personally, if you watch an episode that has a lot of “set up” to it and the next episode is bound to be action packed , those would be really nice 2 for 1 videos and be very satisfying for us as viewers to see your immediate reaction afterwards to those kinds of episodes
