But hey, that gave me a good excuse to keep working on the game, since most of it doesn't need an internet connection to work on. With that said, about 75% of the text is done for the personas of the next update, and with that I decided to put it on hold and work on more of the actual game.
A while ago, I was on spanking thread of /d/ where there was a brief discussion on my game. One person mentioned how the damage system is a bit flawed, since bruises and other harsh marks healed rather quickly in comparison to real life. This was a good point, but for a while I didn't have a good idea of how to rectify this, since having a separate healing system for bruises would be a complete overhaul of the current damage system. So after some brainstorming over time, I think I have a solution that could work with the least amount of effort. Once the damage from a particular implement reaches the level at which it would bruise, a specific graphic for the bruise will appear in the place of damage. This is in place so that even after the damage would heal normally, the bruise or severe mark will remain for some time after. The bruise will have a similar effect to having a high soreness, where some characters will not spank you if you have them. There will also be special healing items that target bruises specifically. I don't know if this system will be in time for the first update however.
