She seemed eager, her energy practically radiating from her tall frame. She wore the distinguished robes of a fourth-year Hufflepuff, showcasing her dedication to her house.
The girl cleared her throat and introduced herself with a bright smile. "Hi there!. I couldn't help but overhear that you have a copy of 'Quidditch Through the Ages' by Kennilworthy Whisp. I've been searching for that book everywhere, and it seems like you have the only one left in the entire shop!"
Her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as she glanced at the book clutched in Jack's arms. Her passion for Quidditch was evident in her excited demeanor, and her eagerness to get her hands on the coveted book was palpable.
Jack looked at her, a friendly smile forming on his lips. "Oh, really? Well, it's your lucky day then," he replied, extending the book toward her. "I was planning to buy it out of curiosity, but since you seem so passionate about Quidditch, I think it would be better off in your hands."
Her face lit up with surprise and gratitude. She accepted the book from Jack, cradling it gently as if it were a precious treasure. "Thank you so much! This means the world to me. I've been studying Quidditch strategies and techniques, and having this book will be a valuable resource for me."
The girl's excitement was contagious, and she bounced on her toes as she continued speaking. "Oh, where are my manners? I got so caught up in the book that I forgot to introduce myself properly. I'm Bella, Bella Summers. I'm a Chaser for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, and I live and breathe Quidditch!"
Her voice had a bubbly quality to it, and she spoke with an infectious enthusiasm that seemed to permeate every word. As she spoke, her bluish hair swayed with her animated gestures, giving her an almost ethereal appearance.
Jack smiled warmly at Bella's introduction and extended his hand in a friendly gesture. "Nice to meet you, Bella. I'm Jack, and this is Sara, my sister," he said, gesturing towards his young companion who peeked out shyly from behind him, "And that's my best friend, Jax."
Bella's eyes widened with delight as she shook Jack's hand, her grip firm and confident. "It's a pleasure to meet all of you! Jack, Sara, and Jax, what a fantastic group. Ohh! I haven't seen any household elf with new and clean clothes. Don't take any offense, but as far as I have seen and know, don't wizards and witches treat household elves as slaves?"
Jack's smile faltered slightly as Bella brought up the topic of house-elves. He understood that it was a sensitive subject for many in the wizarding world, and he wanted to address Bella's concern in a thoughtful manner while staying true to the characters' perspectives and beliefs.
Jax looked up at Jack's face.
"Hey, Jax isn't a slave, he is our friend," Sara said, her voice filled with innocence and sincerity. She tugged at Jax's sleeve, emphasizing her point. "We treat Jax with kindness and respect, just like we would any other friend."
"You heard her, Jax isn't a slave. He is a free elf," Jack replied, his voice gentle yet firm. "I don't know much about the wizarding world, but if that's how people treat others... isn't that kinda bad and sad?"
Bella's eyes widened as she listened to Jack's response, her expression shifting from curiosity to contemplation. She hadn't expected such a perspective from someone so young, and it gave her pause.
"You know what, you're absolutely right," Bella replied, her voice tinged with admiration. "It is sad, and it's something that many wizards and witches have questioned and challenged over the years. There's a growing movement to advocate for the fair treatment and rights of house-elves, to ensure that they are treated with dignity and respect."
She paused for a moment, her gaze softening as she continued. "I apologize if my assumption about Jax was offensive. It's heartwarming to see that you treat him as a friend, not as a servant. That's the kind of compassion and empathy that makes a difference in the world, Jack."
Jack nodded, a small smile returning to his face. "No need to apologize, Bella. It's important to have these conversations and challenge the status quo. I'm glad to hear that there are others who are working towards a more equitable future for house-elves."
Sara, who had been listening attentively, chimed in. "I hope more people realize that treating others with kindness and respect is the right thing to do, no matter who they are or where they come from."
Bella's eyes softened as she looked at Sara, her admiration evident. "You're absolutely right, little sis. It's a lesson that many adults could learn from. I am sorry for making things uncomfortable for you Jax."
Jax smiled warmly at Bella's words. "No need to apologize, Bella. I appreciate your understanding. It's not always easy for people to see beyond the norms and traditions they've grown up with. But conversations like these are what lead to progress and change. So thank you for being open-minded and willing to reconsider your assumptions."
Bella nodded, a newfound appreciation in her eyes. "You're right, Jax. It's important to challenge our own beliefs and be open to different perspectives. I'm glad I had this conversation with all of you. It's given me a lot to think about."

After buying the books, Bella decided to treat them to some ice-cream as a thanks.
The group happily accepted Bella's invitation for ice cream, grateful for the chance to continue their conversation in a more relaxed setting. They made their way to Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor, a popular spot in Diagon Alley known for its delectable magical ice cream flavors.
As they entered the parlor, the sweet aroma of freshly made ice cream greeted them. The walls were adorned with colorful illustrations of various ice cream flavors and magical creatures enjoying their frozen treats. The sound of laughter and conversation filled the air, creating a cheerful atmosphere.
Bella led the way to a cozy booth by the window, and they all settled in, ready to indulge in some delicious ice cream. A friendly waiter approached their table, offering menus and asking for their orders.
"I recommend trying the Butterbeer Ripple flavor," Bella suggested with a mischievous smile. "It's my personal favorite. But they have so many other amazing flavors too, like Chocolate Frogs, Pumpkin Pastries, and even a special Quidditch-themed flavor called Golden Snitch Swirl!"
Jack and the others looked through the menu, their mouths watering at the tempting descriptions. After a few moments of contemplation, they placed their orders, each selecting a different flavor to share and try.
As they waited for their ice cream to arrive, the conversation continued, touching on various topics.
"So, you are going to attend Hogwarts this year, Jack?" Bella asked, her hazel eyes filled with anticipation.
Jack nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, I can't wait to start my first year at Hogwarts! It's been a dream of mine ever since I found out I was a wizard. I'm really looking forward to learning magic and experiencing all the wonders of the wizarding world."
Bella's eyes sparkled with excitement. "That's fantastic! Hogwarts is an incredible place, and I'm sure you'll have an amazing time. I am, as you can see, a fourth-year student at Hufflepuff, and I can tell you that the Quidditch matches are one of the highlights of the school year. I hope to see you at some of the games!"
Jack's eyes lit up at the mention of Quidditch. "That sounds incredible! I've always been fascinated by Quidditch. I have heard so many stories about it from Jax before I knew magic even exists. Do you have any tips for someone who's interested in playing?"
Bella grinned, her enthusiasm evident. "Absolutely! Quidditch is a thrilling sport, and it's great to see your interest in it. If you want to become a Quidditch player, the first step is to practice your flying skills. Being comfortable on a broomstick is crucial. You can start by taking flying lessons and practicing maneuvers, like sharp turns and dives."
As Bella was about to share more tips about Quidditch, the friendly waiter arrived with a tray of their ice cream orders. The sight of the colorful and enticing frozen treats made everyone's mouths water in anticipation.
The waiter skillfully placed the various flavors in front of each person, describing each one with enthusiasm. There was a scoop of Butterbeer Ripple for Bella, a rich Chocolate Frogs flavor for Jack, a creamy Raspberry Pastries for Sara, and a swirl of Golden Snitch Swirl for Jax.
Bella's eyes lit up as she took her first spoonful of the Butterbeer Ripple. "Mmm, this is absolutely delicious! You have to try it," she exclaimed, savoring the creamy yet slightly tangy taste of the butterbeer-infused ice cream.
Jack eagerly took a bite of his Chocolate Frogs flavor, relishing the smooth and decadent chocolate taste. "Wow, this is incredible! It's like eating a chocolatey dream," he remarked, his eyes shining with delight.
Sara, with a look of pure joy on her face, took a small spoonful of the Raspberry Pastries flavor. The ice cream tasted like a blend of fresh Raspberry chunks and flaky pastry, with added ice-cream on the top, reminding her of her favorite treats. "Mmm, it's like Raspberry pie in ice cream form! I love it!" she exclaimed happily.
Jax, always appreciative of the little things, savored the swirl of Golden Snitch Swirl. The ice cream had a rich vanilla base with ribbons of caramel and hints of lemon, perfectly capturing the essence of the famous Quidditch Snitch. "This is amazing! I can taste the magic in every bite," he said with a smile.
As they enjoyed their ice cream, the conversation turned back to Quidditch. Bella eagerly resumed her advice, now with a spoonful of Butterbeer Ripple in hand.
"So, as I was saying, flying skills are essential for Quidditch players," Bella continued, her voice filled with passion. "Once you're comfortable on a broomstick, you can start practicing throwing and catching small objects while in the air. This will help develop your hand-eye coordination, which is crucial for playing as a Chaser or a Seeker."
Jack listened attentively, taking mental notes as he savored his ice cream. He was determined to become a skilled Quidditch player and make the most of his time at Hogwarts.
Bella went on to explain the roles of each position in Quidditch, sharing insights into the strategies and teamwork involved. She also mentioned the importance of physical fitness, quick reflexes, and a deep understanding of the game's rules.
As the group continued their conversation, laughter and excitement filled the air. They lost track of time, completely engrossed in the world of Quidditch and the joy of their newfound friendship.
The ice cream parlor became a place of not only sweet treats but also sweet memories, as they bonded over their shared interests and aspirations.
