December 2022 Release: the Deathseekers are upon us!

Good evening folks! 👋🏻

Hope you are all doing great. We are super excited today to show you our latest work, the first preview of this upcoming December 2022 Release and probably one of the most expected miniatures for the Sons of Ymir… the Dwarf Deathseekers!

If you were thinking about not printing a lot this December because, you know, is Christmas… well, we are sorry because… get ready for this! 🪓

The December 2022 Release will be composed of:

And if we hit the 1750 Patreon Goal the second of December (2ndDecember):

About the Dwarf Deathseekers

As you already know guys, the Sons of Ymir are based on the norse aesthetic and background, but for this set of miniatures we have gone a bit to the west in order to find inspiration from our always amazing antiquity and middle age real world!

This time we went for the Celts and Picts iconography and appeal to create the Dwarf Deathseekers. Probably all of us have the same image of the shirtless pict warrior with blue tattoos around his body -at least we have it- and we couldn’t not bring it to life through these miniatures. For the skirts and details, the celtic references has played a central role also to help us settle the kind of clothes and details these miniatures will carry.

👉🏼 If you want to learn more about these peoples, you can check this pages about the Picts HERE or HERE, and check out these pages about the Celts HERE, HERE or HERE.

About the dynamism of these miniatures, we are paying a tribute to Frank Frazetta and many other fantasy illustrators from the seventies and eighties that used to create powerful barbarian illustrations, and to be more specific, to Conan the Barbarian, where the vast majority of poses are coming from.

But of course, we couldn’t also miss the chance to bring something from our bonnie Scotland, and as we are already talking about Picts and Celts… in the miniatures you can see an interpretation of the Scottish sporran. You can learn more about it HERE

We are expending an insane amount of time in these miniatures due to the big role of the anatomy in the overall design of the miniatures, that is why we wanted to focus the entire release around the Deathseekers.

Also, this is the first time we have created female dwarfs! We know that there is -and there will be- a lot of debate about female dwarfs almost everywhere, from fantasy tabletop games to multi-million fantasy productions (ehem... Rings of Power... ehem...) but we are quite happy with how our strong and powerful female dwarfs look.

Now we are working on the hero male and female seekers, the Trollseekers, the Giantseeker, the Dragonseeker and the Daemonsekers. These hero miniatures will come with a scenic decorated 40x40mm base and a playable 20x20mm base.

Along the next weeks we will be showcasing them one by one to give them the importance they deserve!

Beware, beware guys… the Deathseekers are upon us!

Any chance we'll see some death seekers with their axes on chains at some point in the future? Maybe you could call them Doomseekers...

Hi there! Due to the big amount of anatomy visible and the dynamism of the miniatures, these heads aren't modular. We may create a set of modular pieces in the future to customize other miniatures! :)

Would love to use the heads for votann. Are they seperate from the body? Looks amazing
