He cradled her body in his arms and held her close, happy that she was alive. She couldn't speak, but she managed to place her hand on his cheek. His face softened as his lips curled into a smile.
Christina's hand fell from her King's face, sending him into shock. He quickly checked for a pulse and found that she was still alive, just unconscious. Kneeling there with his motionless Queen in his arms, his body began to shake. That's when a familiar voice called out to him. A lone tear crept from Joaquin's eye as he lifted his head to face Christina's assailant.
