Yes, I'm a big fan of Eurodance music. You can laugh, you can cry, but know that I always have the best time when covering songs from this genre. The metal songs - fine, rock songs - fine, pop songs - fine, but Eurodance is always something that just gets my creative juices flowing. The sheer simplicity, the catchy melodies, the over-saturated colors, the raw 909 drumbeat that's just hitting you with enough punch. Also there is the most important thing... 90s nostalgia. Yeah, I'm a 90s kid and I loved every second of it! The last times when you could be a total idiot and get away with it because nobody was filming you with their phone. I also cherish the memories of moments when there was no internet and social media. People just lived their lives at their own pace and it was ok. I remember going to the seaside with my parents and hearing Barbie Girl all the time there. Some people hated it because of the high pitched vocals, but it's actually a thought provoking song. The chords here are taken straight from a classical piece and are perfectly suited with the synths. I changed them to a 12-string guitar of course. The melodies were just made to be played on the guitar. They sound so crisp... I love it!
Now the funny thing about this music video is that we didn't have any idea what to do. The OG music video is very high budget and it's always a problem. So why not counter it with pink lights and make a video about chores and watching TV? The fog machine still works, and Mrokat's dad got rid of the wasp nest in the garage. From a few simple ideas came the whole concept and I proudly announce that this probably is one of my favorite Retro Poland videos to this date. I love the vibes here, it's just a perfect symbiosis with the music. Pink and cheerful but dark and lonely at the same time.
Have fun and listen to Eurodance!
