It must be heartbreaking falling in love and wanting to be with someone and then not being able to control your habit of eating them. Though I have a theory that the reason Cass is like this is due to her and her mom not being around other lamia. My theory is that solitary lamia are more likely to give in to their predatory urges due to not having anyone around to help control those said urges, whereas communal lamia have their tribes mates and elders to teach them how to control their predatory urges so they don’t end up eating their mates or anyone else they love. This explains why Yara, her sisters, and Yuri ( she used to live in a tribe before she lived on her own) aren’t like this and why Cass, the lonely lamia, and Vili (to some extent) have these urges and either can’t control them or give into them.

It is really depressing Cass wanting to be with others but she can’t due to her being a lamia and eating everyone. I hope she can find some kind of love that doesn’t involve eating her mate.

Vili ate Cass's Dad?! and Cass hates that she's a monster that eats everyone including her close friends.. So that's why Vili is so distant... that makes so much sense. Monsters caring about others yet can't control themselves is so touching yet sad, they can't have friends or loved ones. I get why Vili keeps insisting that she doesn't care for the mouse despite her actions, because she's like "Even though I do care... it's happening".
