A rather controversial sketch from my video discussing my dog attack. Many people felt like I didn't have the right to judge an entire breed by my own experience. Others agreed and had their own story to tell about this breed. At the end of the day, it's about responsible ownership and breeding for good characteristics. Often we talk about Pugs and French bulldogs as immoral and cruel to breed for their flat faces and rampant health complications. I can argue we should be just as critical to breed for positive personality traits, especially in a world with diminishing practical jobs for dogs other than "companion". I believe to save a breed either from extinction or from legal restrictions we have to breed these old impractical traits out of dogs meant for pet sale. Only niche dog enthusiasts (who would hopefully be knowledgable and responsible) should even be able to get their hands on the working version of many breeds (example: malinois). Not just for the safety of humans but to improve the likely hood these dogs live happy well adjusted lives where they are at low risk of rehoming or euthanasia. In the mean time, I won't pretend I think this is a good breed the same way I would never say French Bulldogs are a good breed. Anyway, I'll get off my soap box.
A really short month of sketches, but that's the way it goes sometimes!
