In September and October, I did two unique workshops in Lanzarote. One location was this amazing quarry with a dash of art painted on it.
There is one major caveat to shooting here, though: The rock is volcanic and has sharp AF, so the ladies were not that happy.
After everyone had shot some great images, I wanted to set up a group shoot from a different angle to capture as much of the structure as possible.
I persuaded them by letting them pose with their shoes on and then showing them how amazing it looked, which gave us a few more minutes to shoot this set.

35mm 1/100 sec ƒ6.3 (I needed the relatively small aperture—for a wide angle—to get everyone in focus. Ƒ8/11 would have been better, but it would have required me to increase the ISO or lower the shutter speed, which would have caused the models to move.
PS:
If you shoot one model, it’s a shoot or solo.
Two models, it’s Duo.
Three is a trio, right?
But what’s the proper word when photographing four models at the same time?
We all decided “Foursome” sounded way cooler than a “quartet”…
What do you think?
