I actually didn't mind the Ruiz 2 AJ as it was following a decent game plan when AJ was low on confidence, and he looked sharp, quick and like he could do 15 rounds. Probably sensible against a 300lb Mexican with a decent chin. The Pulev AJ was just messy though. Looked like the gas tank wasn't there anymore, but still tried to plod around the outside. Didn't really look sharp and crisp. Didn't really throw many shots with venom. Pulev is just very poor, and part of AJ's problem is there's so few athletes in the division that his physicality can beat 98% of heavyweights with McCrackhead telling him anything. To me AJ is too comfortable with everything. Eddie speaks for him, McCrackhead, Jobi and Angel don't challenge him, and he doesn't have to dig deep in many fights. The Ruiz training camp is probably the first time he digged deep, and he looked a different man because of it.
