The two strongest people, who can not be defeated by anyone. And until we knew who they were, we had no idea how it's going to go, the writer, showed how they sacrificed themselves for their family, (both showing the love between parents and children) wanting nothing in return just so they can win or won't get hurt. Hiro really knows how to write bonds/relationships. Mavis felt that but in the end August died without his parents knowing they had a son/child.
