2025-08-26 14:10:08 +0000 UTCMest gets a lot of justified hate for this moment, but people do tend to forget that he was with the Council for too long, probably picked up some ruthless habits. And his priorities gotta be all over the place now. Man lost his memories, joined the Council, infiltrated his own guild, had a breakdown when he couldn’t save them for 7 years straight, turned into a drunk, still went back to the Council even after Fairy Tail came back cause he was so mission focused. Then he watched basically everyone he respected there die, including (probably) his only friend. Had to free the Oracion Seis, take on the weight of an upcoming war, bring together a new Council of Wizard Saints, coordinate with Crime Sorciere, keep tabs on the west continent, and then somehow readjust to his old life with his original memories, without the job he’d been doing for like a decade. My guy was putting in WORK. Of course he snapped. That’s 7 years worth of PTSD plus even longer of repressed memories. He’s bound to have major trust issues and the last thing he’d ever want is to watch his loved ones get killed right in front of him again.
