TURF CLUB LIVE ALONE AND COLD
Added 2025-12-15 20:14:59 +0000 UTCHello hello from the frozen shore of Lake Eerie in the pre-holiday deep freeze. It's soup day. I'm making soup. Today it's Borscht. The yard is blanketed w snow and three different species of squirrel are waging a constant, baffling war for territory or maybe just digging up each others food stashes, squeaking and tearing across the powerlines and fences. None of my business really! I'm staying out of it.
A few days ago I played a show w the wonderful folks in The Format in Minneapolis. As cold as it is here in Cleveland I had FORGOTTEN about the absolute deep freeze that hits the western midwest and was NOT PREPARED for -30 w the wind. The show was great. All the Format shows were great but this one was the best. I had the FOH record the raw soundboard and wanted to share it with all of you. The bad news is that there are 3 distinct cases of audio scramblage. Only for a few split seconds. The board was haunted? The good news is that there's a new song at the end of the set. I'll have a full band demo of it up soon.
Next week I'm gonna share the weird field recordings i did in Sussex last month as a kind of winter ambient background. They came out unsettling! But not so unsettling that you can't fall asleep to them.
If anyone would like the songs here separated into tracks, lmk and i'll upload em.

Every version of Holy is the Night gives me goosebumps, particularly this one. In a way I find myself feeling grateful that you trust me to listen to it. Same Ghost is my favorite WP song and this one is such a treat. Insult to Injury? Shit yeah. My 14 year old band was Social Refrigerator lol.
