Update on Sidewinder Rattle and Head
Added 2023-06-15 14:26:08 +0000 UTC
Hi everyone,
I have received feedback regarding the Head component, mentioning that it is detaching from the print bed. To address this issue, I plan to increase the surface area in contact with the bed, which should resolve the problem. Additionally, I recommend using rafts as they provide increased surface area for better print adhesion.
Regarding the Rattle component, feedback suggests that it is easily breaking when being fitted with the body. This issue may be caused by downsizing the model. I advise against downsizing the design as it can affect the ball joint gaps and other parts specifically designed for the original size.
If any of you have printed it on a smaller scale, I am increasing the thickness of the small part that holds the tail to help improve its durability. (This may help to save the already printed body)
If you have not started the print yet please hold for now I am updating the design soon
Thank you

2023-06-15 19:32:43 +0000 UTCAdded the separated jaw and head, I hope this helps! Please grab the latest file, I have also increased the scale of the rattle to 102 % so it will fit with the tail easily. test is going on in my K1 and may finish in 30 min.
2023-06-15 19:29:38 +0000 UTCSad 😭, i have updated the files, this have better stick area with bed. I have updated the rattle as well, if you print the rattle again please increase the rattle scale by 1or2% so it will become bit loose.
2023-06-15 19:21:10 +0000 UTCi found a mesh tools plug in for cura...is that easiest way ?

2023-06-15 19:20:41 +0000 UTCCannot get the tail to attach to the rattle either. Very tough in comparison to other flexis with a ball joint.

2023-06-15 19:09:59 +0000 UTCI just want to pint just the top of the head ... is there a way in Cura to do this ? my first prints bottom mouth printed fine but the top lost adhesion at like 15% from done .. it would be nice to print them separate since they are not connected in the design

2023-06-15 19:04:05 +0000 UTCnew sub here as of yesterday! Absolutely loving it alreadly. Ran a few of each of the guys i have access to so far, snake coming off shortly and i have had no issues! i was able to downsize a giraffee to 50% and print at 60mm outer wall (much faster everywhere else) 10% lightning infill and i was blown away at how well it still worked and looked! Some of the joints barely had two walls on them, but its solid as it needs to be. No adhesion issues on the snake at all, joints seem to have just the right amount to move and look like theyll be great! I have tons of time in tuning my printers. Basically all some version of an ender or CR running klipper and modded hot ends (sprites with lots of cooling). These priints run like a dream on them. might have to go back to buy some old designs. These will make a great addition to our tables! THANK YOU
