In fact if I understand where this is going, we could get Priestess POV first as an introduction to the Orc side and clarification on how and why Eryk's actions delayed the fleet so much, and then Konstantin POV where we learn what his objectibes with burning the archive were, and hopefully a reunion with Eryk and Mav, which would bring us back to the present very nicely.

2024-08-08 23:04:42 +0000 UTCI think that knowing more about what happened during the attempted coup against the emperor is much more interesting at this point. With that in mind, Konstantin's POV is much more interesting than the orc priestess's. A POV from this priestess at this point wouldn't give us much more than some gossip and ideas about political intrigue, I think we can get almost the same thing with the interactions that Erick will inevitably have during his adventures.

2024-08-08 19:16:43 +0000 UTCwe went four books before getting a peek inside the emperor's head (if we do). but we got introduced to him through other characters throughout that period, and the introduction is far more effective that way, I think. the high cleric of the caliphate feels like a similar character. I'd almost want to see a POV from the perspective of the priestess on the invasion fleet, or another significant enemy, before getting the high priest. not knowing what is going inside sauron's head is more interesting, if I'm first introduced to how the witch king of angmar, sarumon and others react to him, in addition to indirectly meeting him when his gaze turns to the ring, the riders go forth, there is some interaction with him through the palantir, etc. to use a LotR analogy.

2024-08-08 17:44:17 +0000 UTCI'd love to know which direction Konstantin is going, but I think world wise, it would be good to see something from the Orcs perspective since all we reall know of them are the terse statements they have made before and dearing combat, and that they keep slaves and talk about honor.
