he does wear a helmet, it is the only metal armor he has. the not killing the elf was a moral compass dilemma for the mc. killing someone who looked like a teenager. yes it might bite him in the ass but it is what it is

2023-08-24 18:53:20 +0000 UTCShe was an enemy combatant on the verge of killing him and had already killed his comrades - she is not some civilian. She is not a POW - she never offered surrender. Don't really get the point of moving her to spatial storage and causing even more problems for the future. Her only value is as a hostage. But revealing that means he becomes an [Yummy Soul Snack] for the emperor. He would be hunt down, captured and devoured. Should have killed her and moved on. Now he has to beg his CO Mage for some sort of plan. Also, why doesn't anyone wear a helmet ?

2023-08-24 18:29:55 +0000 UTCI am baffled, honestly expected the elf woman to die, after all the protagonist already used his spatial ability to kill enemies. Letting her go would be a colossal mistake which could cost him his secrecy so I don’t see how he could solve it peacefully. I don’t understand why add this problem there surelly are simpler ways to add a woman in the MC life but hopefully the author can be surprisingly convincing on this one.

2023-08-13 09:29:46 +0000 UTCyes there are essences for the magical stats. they come from dungeons and monsters with strong magics - Flavius mentioned their colors. he is still training, just half a year in .... quick explatationish..... 50-66 range is like a trained college athlete, 67-85 like an olympian, 86-95 olympic champion....after that, 96+we start to get in the 'super human' ranges with 100 being the peak of human performance....and yes his ability to maximize essences can push him past that . Current: Strength 50/79 Power 47/82 Quickness 34/49 Dexterity 39/60 Endurance 67/95 Constitution 46/68 Coordination 46/63

2023-08-11 19:07:43 +0000 UTCReally enjoying the story so far! Just a few questions/observations. Stats, what do they actually do? So far we've seen our boy raise both his potential as well as his current values, but what has his higher stats done for him? He lugged a heavy barrel up from the larder and he's noticed that he can haul ass without being winded. Sure that's impressive but he's supposed to be a 6'1 ripped dude in the prime of his life, put next to that his physicallity doesn't seem very super human. I guess my question would be, how does a a dude from Desia with 100 in all stats compare to a gymbro from earth? Is he twice as strong? 5 times as strong? So far from the story the legionnaires don't seem to be that much stronger than normal people. Essences, are there any for magic stats? So far we've seen essences that increase physical and mental stats but what about magical stats? Is it possible for Eryk to get his aether potential raised? Anyhow, love the story!

2023-08-11 12:37:44 +0000 UTCI agree with ya. One of the things that draws me to military fiction is in part how harsh it can be and the level of comradery that comes from those extreme experiences. Everyone is a victim, nothing should be glorified and the individual is powerless to the will of the collectives.

If the MC wanted to get laid or collect a person for his collection the battle field is a pretty ridiculous place to do it, especially right after he saw Regis crushed by a boulder. He he can get laid and collect people later, and a young pretty face shouldn't keep him away from power after he's risked his life for it for so long. I think putting the elf in the void space was cool and can definitely be worked with, but if you have to create things in the story that stop him from killing her for the sake of not making a hard decision or taking accountability then it just becomes a big steaming pile of decomp
