Another image from Critical Role (spoiler-y for the end of Campaign 1, but I've already spoilered that pretty thoroughly): Vax'ildan realises that some resurrections leave their mark.

After his death and subsequent resurrection*, Vax has noticed a strange mark on his chest, and knows his time is running out before the Raven Queen will claim him for her own. (Stream link)

*In the first campaign of Critical Role, the characters were resurrected left and right, which is something I'm totally not used to as a player (though that might be because we rarely reach the levels required to resurrect someone). But I have to say that death is handled in a very profound way on the show; I know that other groups treat character death like a minor temporary inconvenience, but there, it actually has consequences. Though it's interesting to see that, with campaigns 2 and 3, there is considerably less resurrection than in the first campaign.

Vax and Gilmore, meanwhile, are on the drawing table, and I guess I can say Happy Pride Month!

These background patterns work SO WELL with coloured pencil! Much better than with watercolour, interestingly. I'm trying to record an on-and-off video, recording snippets and then putting them together later. Won't be anything like a tutorial, but might result in a nice and inspiring in-progress piece.

I'll be at Tolkien Tag in Geldern the weekend after next! If anyone thinks of going, please make sure you get tickets in advance - I think they were already sold out for Saturday, and they won't have any tickets on-site at all.
