Pins - horror story with happy ending.

So... I almost didn't sleep tonight, and when I got a notification at school that the pins were there, I raced home during a free period. I had my hubby do an unboxing video... but I can't share that, as the exact moment when my heart was shattered isn't really good video material. There were three or four halfway acceptable pins (right). The rest all look like the one on the left.

Look at the horror... it seems the bronze plating was rubbed into the enamel on nearly every single pin, causing my son to blurt out, "He looks like Farmer Jones from Animal Farm!"

Accurate.

I wrote to the company at once, and here's where the happy ending begins - they immediately called me back, apologised, and offered to redo them at no extra charge. Whew.

The downside: More waiting.

The upside: I get to update the colours - make the skin brighter, and bring back that teal of the cloak.

I hope to have the new pins at the end of April then - I'm terribly sorry for all the waiting! But now I know to stay well away from bronze plating. Why do they offer a plating that will mess up an entire production run, and why would anybody actually package these to send to customers?? How could they think that anyone would not notice?

I really don't understand that either! I'll tell the company to warn people the next time anyone wants bronze with a light enamel colour.

Oh, no, so sorry for this!! I do not mind waiting at all; it is good that they admit the mistake!

OOOFFFF!

Mary Catelli

Oh no, I’m so sorry Jenny. *hugs*

Oh, no! First Thangorodrim and now this! -- Seriously, though, what a bummer. But if they're willing to re-do them all free of charge, at least they're taking responsibility for their eff-up... and not going "Well YOU chose the bronze plating" or anything! It does make one wonder why they're offering it in the first place. Is it a new, unproven technique? Or is it that they're usually making more abstract designs where a smear like that isn't so much of an issue? Either way, glad they're determined to do better. As for the wait, Vorfreude ist die schönste Freude and all that...

Oh, so sorry about your heart being broken. Hugs and hugs. But don't worry! I'm more than willing to wait and I'm pretty sure everyone here is. Besides, this means the company will be A LOT more careful when making their products for other people as well. So, finally, everything will be fine.

That's what I call an emotional roller coaster! I'm so sorry about this, but glad that they actually acknowledged their (huge) mistake! What matters is that you finally get a satisfying result with no extra charge!

Litsen

Oh my! So sorry that happened :( Hope the redo will come out much nicer for you. And I'm with you, why would one think it is a good idea to send out a product in that condition? Oy! Hugs <3
