Poll results - well, that was hard! ;)

As you already saw, the poll results leave me with a lot of choices still! Here are the top six results (I left out Maglor, as he's already in there with the sons of  Fëanor):

The Silmarils

Finrod

Fingon

Set/Sons of Fëanor

Set/Lúthien and Beren

The Professor

I have to say, I love that choice. Almost all of these I would have done eventually anyway!

For a later date, I will keep in mind a dragon, Ent, and Éowyn.

The idea has come up to "block" a few characters together - Amrod and Amras will certainly share one pin. I also think I'll put Celegorm, Caranthir and Curufin together. Thoughts?

Maglor will get a pin without the heraldic device, as will the other sons of  Fëanor. Finrod will get one with his harp, I think. For the Silmarils, I think these may be smaller, and 'maybe' I can design them in a way that you can pin them together and they nestle into the others, so to speak.

I also think I'll experiment with soft enamel - I didn't even realise that much of the pins I love most (the non-smooth ones) are soft enamel, not hard enamel. Which is nice, as they're less expensive to produce, too! Can you tell me which you would prefer? Here's a video that explains the difference really well.

Here's a welcome to eight new Patrons since yesterday! Heya, nhoknhok, Sariah, Danielle, Melanie, Andrew, Ash, Keri, and Ann

So far I'm utterly satisfied. I'll start saving so I can have the whole bunch of them. They'll come in sets, right? But I'm also very excited about the idea of a bundle including an artbook. ^^

Laura Michel

Amrod & Amras should definitely be on a pin together, and Curufin & Celegorm too. Maybe not Caranthir if it'll be too 'squished'. I have a feeling that my pin collection is going to increase because I definitely need all the Sons of Feanor, haha . And Finrod, and Fingon. Excited for these! XD

At the number of people that are currently in the Celebration Tier, it's not possible to choose, I'm afraid! Right now, I'm hoping that the 200 pins I ordered will be enough! So there will definitely be another fixed reward. Another one could also be a mention in the artbook, for example. :) Another good argument for hard enamel!

Those are excellent choices indeed! I'm looking forward to seeing them!!

Litsen

Oh man I will buy every single one of these. I'm already planning a layout for my bag to display them! There's so little Tolkien merch to wear and show off your love, so most of my stuff is things like your art on my walls, books and some action figures from when the movies came out. Being able to actually show off my love for Tolkien will be awesome! I'm thinking of having the Professor in the middle with the Silmarils above him and Beren/Luthien beneath and then try and balance Feanor and his sons on one side with Fingolfin, Finarfin etc. on the other. tl;dr I'M EXCITED!!

Love the idea of the nesting Silmarils pins! I have a strong preference for hard enamel myself -- I have found that the soft enamels are more likely to chip with wear ..... How many pins do you think you'll be producing in a given year? At the pins tier level, would we be able to choose the two (?) we would like to receive for the year? Or would it be "you're in this tier, here's yer pin!" ? ^_^

"Blade" McMicking, D.I.

I'm just so excited for all of these pins, I can't wait to buy them all!

Emily Yankura

I like Huan - not little Celebrimbor though, that would break the pattern a bit, I think.

Jenny Dolfen

Wouldn't the three C-brothers be too much for one tiny pin? ;-) How about Celegorm+Huan, Curufin+Little Celebrimbor and Caranthir+Haleth (or Caranthir alone, looking grumpy)?

Lintie

I love the idea of putting Finrod with his harp! I have recently started learning to play folk harp and it would be awesome to have a pin for it! I also agree with the comments further up suggesting a different Maedhros pin without the device to properly match his brothers and Fingon, and that Caranthir is very much the odd man out among the sons of Feanor.

Rachel Mumme

Oh, it looks like I’ll be buying a LOT of pins from you :D. Looking forwards to all the designs (have fun!)

Liv Klein

I do tend to lump him in with the two other Cs, but you're right; at least he stays out of the unpleasantness around Lúthien.

Jenny Dolfen

Anja brought up an interesting point: all sons of Fëanor are paired up, so naturally (Amrod and Amras), some as narrative device (Celeborm and Curufin), and some by their temperament (Maedhros and Maglor). And only Caranthir gets left out. He seems to be a loner who doesn’t really belong in any single group of his brothers.
