Four seasons

Here's all four of them! I find myself wishing I'd paid more attention to the likeness. I never realised that they don't quite match. :/ Hope you don't mind, Is! Just separate them by those gorgeous mats and nobody will notice. ;)

But looking at these, I feel justified in turning down a comic book offer I got just before Christmas. Likeness has just never been such a great concern of mine, and it shows. I probably could do another comic of Maglor and Maedhros though, no problem...

Special Patron offer!

A lot of people have expressed the wish to get these as a set. If you'd like all four of them, just get two "Custom prints" in A4 size from my Etsy shop, and I'll do the set for you! :) Make sure you let me know you'd like the seasons set in the comment box. ^^

Oh! Thanks for the help, Is! Glad you've found it, Elizabeth. :)

Oh, my. It's really striking to see all 4 side by side. I don't think the likeness is that off - people do look different from different angles and in different light.

Lisa Gerard

Can I say that I didn't notice the expressions not quite matching so much because I liked the details of the crown??? In every season??? hehehhehehhe (I think autumn is my favorite though, the coloring suits him really nicely!!!)

Vasiliki G

Ah, found it! Many thanks, Isabella!

Rowana

He doesn't really strike me as a level personality in the book. Though, now that you say it, he was smiling in two of the scribbles I did last Spring. That's another downside of doing a set over such a long period of time; I was taking care with balance in composition and colours, but the expressions totally escaped me.

It was one of the giveaways for April 2015, posted on April 3rd. Just scroll down... although it might take Patreon ten minutes to get you there.

These make a great set, and it doesn't matter at all to me that the faces don't exactly match because each is so unmistakably Thranduil. Is there a line-art for Autumn (asking wistfully)?

Rowana

Hmmm, I wrote earlier that you tended to draw a rather angry or perturbed, though beautiful, Thranduil, but I rescind the statement that all the season were like that because Spring Thranduil looks very peaceful and calm. I think that one is my favourite. It's a wonderful set.

Larissa

Hahahaha! Can't unsee O_o XD

Jenny Dolfen

Oh, I didn't keep track! I'll send you this one with the January package. :) Anyone else for whom the same applies?

Jenny Dolfen

I checked my living room walls and see that I've been getting one big print a year. These may well be my 2016 set. :-)

Love your description! :)

So, if you press enter, patron goes ahead and posts your post...before I was even ready! I actually like the different expressions. In spring you see him slowly opening up and blessing up in anticipation of upcoming times, in Summer he's his own powerful self, which he still is in autumn, but you can see some of that strength is leaving already, and in winter he's very much turned inwards. He's really in tune with the seasons! And I can't wait to continue coloring on the spring and summer line-art! If only that new box of shinny coloured pencils would arrive...

Corine Hefting

Aww, that's a pretty offer. Now it's too bad I bought the other three already :( (partially to save having to buy them all at once lol)

Corine Hefting

Wiltraud Potrawa

I think they look perfect together. I actually love it that they are each very unique while still being Thranduil. That's how I like to match things so you did it just right as far as I'm concerned. :D *happy dance*
