When talking about how Donnelly was the only one to maybe make it out alive, I think it's also important that Donnelly was the only one of the group to actively object/try to stop them from assaulting the woman. Briggs and the narrator didn't participate, sure, but neither of them cared that it happened either. The narrator literally said "you want her, take her". They were complicit in what happened by not trying to stop it (narrator) or condemning it/imposing consequences (Briggs). Donnelly was the only one who tried to intervene and prevent it from happening at all. Donnelly was the only one who may have been spared her wrath. Makes sense to me.

Yeah you would think Isaiah would be aware of that considering he’s from the south. It’s not inherently a slur. There’s similar words to other communities where the intent with which the word is said heavily dictates its acceptability, and this is one of them. The way Hunter used it (exaggerated southern accent pronunciation) was not offensive.

Hello everyone I'm commenting this mostly cuz most people don't know much about native American folk lore, as someone whose full blooded I am half navajo and half cherokawa apache. The La Lechuza is a harmful spirit but it can also be the deer women, who seeks out lustful and abusive men, this being shown as the group of men take advantage of her. Also another thing is the owl is considered a bad omen, not necessarily death but usually something equal to it if not worse and finally the thunder bird, I've personally never heard about it as for most native Americans we hear these stories from our elders, I heard all of my from my shícheíí (grandpa) but usually the folk tales are passed down and only usually local. Hence why you can hear the same story but it could be different each time as it all depends on who your grandpa heard it from and of course our different clans and tribes. But loved the episode! Keep up the amazing work, “Ayóóʼóóʼnííł dóó ’ashįįh níłnii’. Also for Hogan try saying Ho-gone all at once.
