I'm curious what you guys think about AI porn?

I'm having a hard time figuring out what exactly my stance on this is and I figure there's no better way to work that out than to have a conversation about it with you guys.

As far as I can tell the internet at large is divided into two main camps: people who think it liberates artists, and people who think it infringes upon artists. I think there's a bit of both going on, but there's also a part of me that believes that the ceiling on this development might be a lot lower than people think.

I see youtube drowning in shoddily generated AI art compiled into videos with a specific theme. For example, stuff like Breaking Bad As An 80's Dark Fantasy Film. I also see AI porn now emerging at an ever increasing pace, but either looking ridiculous right out the gate, or requiring a rather extensive post-production workflow to make it look presentable.

And of course this Rock Paper Scissors animation video by Corridor Crew that blew up online a week or two ago demonstrates that even with all the work they have to put into it to make it look good, it still looks wonky as all hell.

Now of course this is an emerging technology and as time goes on, deep learning algorithms will get better and better at making passable art. But when it comes to consistency and actual beauty/visual perfection, these seem harder to attain. And I think fundamentally, what an AI can never do is be inspired to create something. So as an artist, is it going to be inspiration that separates me from what an AI can be prompted to produce?

I'm not necessarily worried that AI is going to replace anyone. I think by and large, once the dust has settled, these algorithms will continue to churn out prompt-based content for anyone looking for a quick and easy porn fix. In that sense it's probably not going to be any different from the adult tube sites that we've already had for years, if by now not decades.

Really, what's the fundamental difference between watching pirated content on a tube site (which is what most of these sites are about, only a handful of the bigger ones do any form of content moderation at all), or having an AI pirate that content for you since every time you ask it to make something? Given that it just works off millions of images that have been fed into it to put something out that resembles what you've asked for.

I'm wondering if there's really a quality multiplier anywhere in that pipeline? For now my gut says probably not.

That said, AI is competition in the sense that it is now the job of human artists to provide that quality multiplier instead. More and better interaction, consistency in the product itself, and maintaining that essential part of inspiration? It's an interesting question and it's causing me to think a lot about how I should go into the future doing what I do.

What do you think?

I would strongly expect an AI artist to be good at backgrounds and buildings. as above, something " sexy " is still a human-to-human thing.

A machine can be relied upon to think and perform like a machine not a human brain, a machine AI is good for research , data collation , number crunching, engineering etc not the arts and particularly erotic and pornographic art takes a human brain and imagination to produce a product that can turn on and excite another human brain. There are very few artists that can do that effectivily so imagine the task of teaching a machine to achieve that goal, it's a way off in the future yet.

It's just a new toolset - still needs skilled operators. At some point it will be more of an art media that is still using a human "artist" and the craft of the artist will still be the controlling factor.

It lacks variance, and so gets old really fast. Ai can't just can't compete with a delightfully dirty human mind.

In some way it is going to be competition...if you look at what e.g. @TheRRRealist (Twitter) is creating. In the end it will be just another tool in your toolbox. e.g. it will soon be much easier to generate assets and textures using AI tools. but you're right I think in a way that creators are still key in generating unique and never created before artwork. But on the learning aspects, an AI learning from images is not really different compared to an artist looking for inspiration :) Sorry for the random gibberish haha, I do think if you as an artist know how to leverage AI tools you can take your art to the next level.

It gets tiresome real fast

Let me try and discovery some of my feelings about what I see. I'm old so my opinions may not represent the current average consumer of the medium however I have been a financial supporter over the last decade of several different artists that I follow. Real porn is not my thing and never really has been over the years. Been lucky in the many relationships which have kept me occupied. CGA in the last decade came at a good time for me. Love the diversity, creativity and personal touch another human adds to the stories which can be summed up in one image or run the gamete of an ongoing soap opera. Seen recent image sets released on the many sites where the artist proudly boasts this is Ai art. Some of those claims may be unfounded and there is no true accounting for how much touch up work has been done. End result is that some of this art is impressive. The three samples you linked to were sort of enjoyable. It is all fantasy, it's not real, it's in someone's mind and then in mine. Therefore the Ai medium is difficult for me to find fault with if the end product can entertain me for a few moments. What I foresee as a problem is the art I may enjoy being difficult to find among the multitude of choices offered for my selection. Like searching out a new breakfast cereal or trying a new toilet paper there are many appeals to the decision I will make. Both good and bad. Most of us live on a set budget of income and can choose to spend a certain amount on our luxuries like toys, beer, drugs, pretty women and of course CGA. It has limits but our mind devours the goodies and leave us wanting more of everything. Not easy being horny 24 hours a day. Will the Ai art I make satisfy me? I do not believe it will. It misses that WOW! moment that new art can slay you with. Will the cheap priced or even free Ai art offered give me that fix? Remains to be seen. Should probably mention I am a huge comic book fan of many years supporting mainly independent styled artists. Richard Corben being one of my favorites since the early 70's. His commentaries about his art over time mirrors in many ways the fears of artist living in the current times.

Have you seen the reveals I posted for the 3 ladies last month?

Pornpen.ai if you guys wanna try making some ai generated porn (from a limited set of input). There's *definitely* some kinks to work out still. I don't see ai porn being a threat to traditional artists for a good while yet.

Josh Greiner

It never looks quite as good as real art, and I haven't seen any creative futa porn so... am rather neutral on it.

Grayve

Oh trust me I have no intention of switching up my style haha.

TheDude3DX

All of it looks the same with ai art. You can't tell one "artist" from the other. You should stick with your own style . . . No one's art looks like yours.

I've noticed this too! For sure there are a lot of very samey looking pictures out there.

I'm newer to 3d so I can't speak to how AI will or should change how things are done, but I think it could end up being a net good for smaller creators. The amount of stuff an individual creator has to learn and manage seems to be pretty high, and not everybody can be an A list painter, or environment artist. If AI can help fill some of those gaps it gives the creator more space to focus on what makes their product, characters, etc. unique. IDK I'm kinda glass-half-full on this one. Time will tell of course.

Foot - A

Like other commenters I'm more concerned with the fact that you can very quickly spot patterns with AI art. It becomes boring really quickly after you've seen a few dozen of them from similar prompts.
