Nienor on Haudh-en-Elleth, revised sketch

A revised version of the earlier Nienor sketch, zoomed out slightly to show more of the mound she's lying on. I plan to fill nearly the entire canvas with either white periwinkle or anemones. I'm scared already. O_o Do you know any other ground-cover plants (preferably white) that would look good here?

Maybe it's a bit too mundane to grow on the grave of an elf-maid. I'll probably just go for classic squiggles!

Jenny Dolfen

There's white clover. Don't know if that grows in your area, but it's a pretty ground cover here in the US. It's very lush and comfortable to lie in, too. <3

You've already given Thranduil fuchsias, which are native to South America and..........New Zealand. And now you've referenced both the Lego movie and trousers, I can't get away from a 'honey, where are my pants?' caption.

Oh, those are pretty, Erin! Though I just noticed they only seem to grow in Australia and New Zealand, and I usually try to stick to European pants. Though I could probably make an exception for everything growing in Middle Zealand. ;)

Pratia spp; I love them, but the violets in our garden keep overwhelming them, along with everything else. Shy and retiring violets are not.

Simbelmynë or Niphredil might work?

Anemone is a top choice, though I've mainly settled on periwinkle now - until I reread the scene (smart move, to do that after finishing the line art), and realised I had got so much of it wrong that I'm not sure I'll continue. I'd totally forgotten the rain and thunderstorm.

Jenny Dolfen

Wood Anemone (Anemone nemorosa) ?

Floss

None of the flowers of Middle-earth work Jenny?

Floss

Hmmm I can feel a diptych coming on ;-)

Floss

Yes, myrtle is already on my list. So hard to choose!

Jenny Dolfen

On a hilltop under a tree opens a ton of possibilities. :D

Jenny Dolfen

Ooh! I like that.

Jenny Dolfen

Creeping phlox is another good one.

Depends on where the mound is located. Under trees or openly on a hilltop, where the sun might shine directly upon it. This difference would make grow also different kinds of flowers I think.

Hi Jenny! The picture is coming along nicely! When I think of ground cover, my thoughts always go to myrtle and there are some species of myrtle with white flowers. I googled "myrtle flower groundcover" and lots of pretty pics came up.
