[Ep 1.18] Storyboard complete!

“Visible ink.” This term refers to writing that is readily “seen” by the reader or the viewer, who often mistakes these words on the page as the only writing the storyteller is doing.
But how events in a story are ordered is also writing. What events should occur in a story to make the teller’s point is also writing. Why a character behaves in a certain way is also writing.
–Brian McDonald, “Invisible Ink”

Hey guys! Last week I started the storyboard for the next episode, creating 127 new screens.

This week, I finished the storyboard. It now has 212 screens in total!

This is actually a lot bigger than previous storyboards – even though the episode is shorter (the storyboards for the last two episodes combined came to just 137 screens). The reason is that I’ve spent more time outlining (using beat sheets), and that’s helped me plan the scenes out in more detail.

Hopefully this means that the next episode won’t take so long to fucking write, because I'll have a clearer map this time, and I won’t have to do so much “discovery writing”.

We’ll find out Soon™, because I’m going to get started on it tomorrow! I’ll post a progress report when I’ve got a picture of how it’s going.

In the meantime, our illustrator lovely Victoria is hard at work creating some cool new art.

I’m really excited about the episode!  It’s just a quickie, but I think it’s got an interesting balance of action, plot and sexiness. I hope you’ll like it!

Just wanted to say that I know what it's like to struggle to keep the creative process more-or-less under control, and I love that you're being so open about your process. And I also really like your storyboards and beat-sheets, and it's inspired me to give that a try myself :)

I know you had several mini-episodes planned out, but do you have an idea on where you want to story to be end of 2023? If so could you reveal some details?
