Happy New Year!

Hey guys, Happy New Year!  I felt totally exhausted after the last episode drop, so I had a light week this week – mostly just doing bug fixes, admin and story planning.  I suck at resting, but I did my best.

In 2021 – while the rest of us were stuck indoors a lot of the time – our heroine travelled to Bangkok and went undercover in the Hard Cock Cafe. What’s next?

Katabasis
She doesn’t know it yet, but to succeed in her mission she’s going to have to become a bargirl (club prostitute) at the Hard Cock Cafe. The next few Bangkok episodes will tell the story of that journey. I started writing episode 1.15, “Girl On Film”, this week!  More info on this episode Soon™.

What about the Lifepath?
We plan to bring the Lifepath back in the future – the vision is for the heroine's backstory and relationships to seamlessly roll forward into the main mission.

Doing this will require some time.  We need to (1) adapt the existing content to work for agents of all nationalities, not just British and (2) add new content bridging the gap between university and the main mission.

I also feel like the university experience was too linear.  The heroine always has an optional fling with Simon, then always has an optional affair with the professor, etc.  Many story hooks that were set up weren't developed, because the screen time was already devoted to the existing linear content.

When we revisit this part, I think it would be better if we had a wider range of shorter sexy scenarios, that would be randomly chosen based on player choices and heroine Kinks.  

For example: in any given playthrough, when she goes to university, your precious little cinnabun might have the opportunity for an affair with her professor, or she might have the opportunity to get railed at a frat party, or she might end up having the opportunity to pose nude for the art department, or she might etc etc.

I feel like that would make replays way more interesting and unpredictable, and also give every heroine a more unique and individualised backstory to take into the main mission.

Having a unique background (and skill set based on this background) will make the Bangkok scenes (1) more interesting and actually (2) easier to write, because I'll have some biographical data to work with.

The problem, of course, is time, and I feel like it's not yet the right time to switch away from Bangkok and go back to the Lifepath.

Next week
My main effort is going to be writing episode 1.15.  I've got an outline I'm happy with – I need to develop it a bit more (there are some NPC characterisation issues I need to tweak, and a vague section that needs to be worked through in more detail), and get started building it in the engine.
