A quick update on my current projects :3
So, where do I begin… the new versions of Blender are… quite something, let’s say :D
Until recently, I was mostly using versions below 4.0. They had their quirks, but they got the job done. However, after watching countless tutorials and receiving advice from friends, I decided to dive into the world of Blender’s new Eevee Next.
Let me tell you, it’s been a ride. I’ve burned through a lot of patience (and almost my fingers!) dealing with bugs and unexpected program behavior. Some issues were resolved by adapting my projects to the new workflows, while others were simply fixed by keeping up with Blender updates. If you’re planning to use the latest versions, I highly recommend frequently looking at the program's updates and checking for any bugs—it’ll save you a ton of time and nerves :3
That said… Eevee Next is truly an interesting step forward. Despite the challenges, I’m loving the results it delivers, and I’m excited to keep learning how to master it :3
As for the new models with updated rigs, the progress is going well! Their setup is different from what I’ve worked with before, but I’m really enjoying the process :3
I’ve also finally dived deeper into the NLA editor (Layer Animation), which I barely touched before. The workflow it offers is quite different from what I’m used to, but it has its advantages. Projects feel more structured and manageable now. Still, it’ll take some getting used to! :3
As for the animation with the incident at the shop - I've finished the main motion loops! There’s still plenty to do, like adding transitions between animations, adding variety, calculating physics… there’s a lot of work ahead. :3
Even though experimenting and learning these new workflows has thrown me off schedule, I’m really happy with how things are shaping up!
To test out these new tools and processes, I made a small animation featuring the Owl lady that heads off to her second job after her shift at the shop as a... dominatrix at a BDSM club! :3
It’s a short, looping animation, about 5 seconds long. I’m aiming to finish rendering it in the next couple of days. I’m still figuring out the right balance between image quality and performance on my setup, so fingers crossed :3
Thank you so much for your support—it means the world to me and keeps me motivated to dive into the exciting world of 3D graphics! Your encouragement is everything!
I’d love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or ideas if you have any! :3
